"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." This quote was told by the famous philosopher George Santayana. History means the study of past events especially in human affairs. There are many types when it comes to history there is cultural history, military history, history of religion and much more. Historians write in the context of their own time, and with due regard to the current dominant ideas of how to interpret the past, and sometimes write to provide lessons for their own society, and till this day historians discover new things of the past human life. The historians specify their studies depending on geographical location and time period. People must have a background about history to know who they are and where they come from without history it's like a person with no identity. It is very important for people to learn history because people can feel connected, and learns from the past, and information will help with daily life and careers.

History makes the people feel connected and give them an identity. This is through studying the past life of your ancestors' culture, habits, religion, and their philosophy of life and also the environment they have lived in the past. It also gives them sense of connection to the place, time and community, and a historian once said : "The destruction of the past or, rather, of the social mechanisms that link one's contemporary experience to that of earlier generations, is one of the most characteristic and eerie phenomena of the late 20th century. Most young men and women at the century's end grow up in a sort of permanent present lacking any organic relation to the public past of the times they live in."

History makes people learn from the past. People started to study history and explore it to learn from the past and learn from it say they don’t repeat the same mistake in the future thus…...

Mama Day Book Review

...Discuss the symbolism in the novel. Be specific. Mama Day, a novel which has won many acclaimed awards and recognition from many in the literature world, was a fictional piece of writing full with many images, sounds, great settings and fascinating characters. The author, Gloria Nylor, uses many intriguing characters of which she places them with many actual realistic settings and situations as she describes the entire event they were faced with. Nylor centers her novel on the characters of Cocoa and George, whom both have to deal with the parallels of life in both the small island of Willow Springs and the large city life of New York. The other main characters of this book are Ophelia, Baby Girl and Mama Day. Mama Day is the most prognostic in the book and often the most outspoken, brave and powerful person of Willow Springs. What would happen if she left the town, since it seems that she is the one with the most authority there? Well as she said it herself, she has no intention of leaving. Mama Day is often symbolized with Eco-feminism, as the author would always place her at scenes in her Garden, or in the forest or with some natural inclement weather. Mama Day also focuses on what will be said the two most important characters of the novel, Cocoa Day and George Andrews. Cocoa Day is torn between two worlds of the nature and city life, where in the city everything is dependent on an explanation. Cocoa’s husband, George, is an engineer from the big city and......

In deciding what priority rules to acclimate, an organization such as Hi-Ho Yo-Yo, Inc. should achieve the following objectives: 1. Meet due dates of the customers if the product goes directly to them or the downstream operations if the product is but an input of another. 2. Tupac Shakur - Dear Mama

How free can you be if you really accept that white folks are the traffic cops of your life? Mama tells me that she is not talking about freedom. She says that she is talking about survival." The owner wants to expand the business. By looking at the current business operations of Mama Dukes Soul Food Café we can see what areas need to be considered for expansion which is important for successful growth and longevity. There are many calculated steps that must be taken before such a big move it made. First the form of business ownership must be considered to see if it’s effective and can handle the growth. Marketing strategies have to be evaluated to see what’s working, what’s not, and what’s cost effective. Daily operations and employee inventory are looked at as well. Some employees job descriptions can be changed to help the daily operation run smoother. A general manager can relieve some of the responsibilities the owner currently has. ... The Pros and Cons of Genetic Testing: The link of the pros and cons of genetic testing was placed forward not ot argue either way of ya or nay of one side, but more to inform the reader of the advantages. The most important message to take away from this passage is genetic testing is a choice. Whether the author believed genetic testing to be moral or immoral has no place in this article. Genetic testing has many advantages such as early detection of mental and physical defects of a child before birth. This gives parents a way to either terminate the pregnancy to avoid paying the extra money because of low wages or no insurance or to avoid the child going through a life of suffering. It also gives the family time to prepare if they so should choose to keep the child. The article concludes by informing us nothing is certain. You could have a perfectly healthy child that passes with SIDS or have an unhealthy child that live to a lengthy age, which leaves some room for doubts and disadvantages of genetic testing. The textbook explains genetic testing by using the term Genetic Counseling which helps potential parents know the likeliness of having a child with a genetic or chromosomal disorder. The book references counselors being well trained to asses responses from potential parents. Words such as facts, risk, and probability are viewed as sensitive words, and the doctors should be trained well to not mislead and or help to cope with words such as these. There are also 2......
