The Days That Changed My Life…

The days that changed my life forever were two of the greatest gifts I could have ever imagined! I was preparing myself for months leading up to those days but I had no idea when those days came it would change who I was, or even how I thought. It took a few days after to realize that all of this wasn’t a dream it became reality. I hoped and prayed for these days to come one day. I couldn’t have been more thrilled when they finally arrived. I keep thinking to myself is there anything I need to do better, what I needed to do, how my life will be different and there is no going back. All I could do was breath and enjoy every precious moment God has given me. When all else fails I know these were the days I can look back and always know I had done something right.
July 8, 2009 came and what a day this was. This is the day I had my son Kelbyn and I remember this day very well. I woke up at 5 am to get ready and head to the hospital. We finally arrived at 6 am little did I know what I was about to go through. What I did know for sure was I was going to hold my son for the first time in my arms that day. By 8 am they started to induce me and this process wasn’t too pleasant. I was actually in labor for hours and pushed I know for 2 hours. The incredible thing that actually kept me going was getting to actually watch my son be born. Was it the craziest thing I have ever seen or even went through, yes it was by far? Them putting that mirror at the bottom of my bed and watching him be born was the one thing that keep me from giving up. When he was finally placed in my arms I knew from that moment on that my life would never be the same. He was so little and to think God choose me to be his mother. With this blessing I knew I would do anything to be the best mother my son could have ever asked for. How could…...

Teacher Who Changed My Life

...A teacher alone has the ability to change a student’s life. Agree or disagree. The school is not a video game which gives immediate gratification, and we can not claim that students fall in love in each subject taught. After all, what a teacher teaches daily are simple tools like speaking a language, solve a math problem or write an essay that are unlikely by themselves to radically change the lives of students. We all, in our school career, remembered a hurtful words of teachers, with comments on our grades records for example or on the opposite hand a teacher who once believed in us, who knew how to restore our confidence. So a teacher has the ability to change a student lives with sometimes a happy end but it can also influenced the student in disastrous consequences. “When the fascination takes over”, some nice student’s life stories can lead. I remember not a long time ago, it was actually last year in 12th grade in France, we had a fascinating history teacher. This went far beyond the quality of its courses. Her manner of speaking, her presence in class, she had a very classy and luxury appearance. All the boys were in love with her, and girls were inspired by her way to get dressed. That year, we all worked very hard history, got very high grades in the History Baccalaureat (final high school exam in France) and many of my classmates enrolled in history major in college, without her telling them......

Technology Changed My Life

...What is one invention that has changed your life? Well, mine is a cell phone. It lets you talk, access the internet, play games and much more. A cell phone comes in handy in times like emergencies. Most defiantly so you can call the ambulance, police or even the fire department. Just in case of things happen like fires, robberies or even wrecks, you will have something handy to get a hold of the emergency help. The cell phone will change your life in ways that can be either good or bad. On a cell phone there is a thing called texting. Texting is a different way of communicating instead of calling someone. You can type a message on your phones keyboard, put in an address (as in a phone number) to who you would like to send a message to and press send and that person will receive the message on their phone. Of course either person can choose to just call at any time, but more than likely the text messages will go back in forth. Texting is popular now a day considering it is a teen’s favorite way to talk to each other. Some teens bully others through texting and is currently one of the most common ways of bullying today. Forward, are types of messages that you can send to someone to see what he or she may think of you, to see if they have something to ask you or even to tell you about an important, even that might be coming up. Some cell phones, but not all, have internet. Like my phone is an Android and you can hook up to someone’s WiFI if it’s not locked and you can......

The Worst Day of My Life

...wonderful moment of my life...” It was the most wonderful day of my life! Maybe it did not mean a great deal for others as it came naturally to them, but for me, it was a bliss. Yes, bliss; I had completely lost hope until Dr Hurree came in my life as a ray of light, enlightening my life and removing all the darkness which caused me to weep my heart out everyday. I am able to conceive! This very little fact made me dance a jig of joy even on the hospital stretcher. All thanks to Dr Hurree, I was able to become mother after ten long years of marriage. This very fact filled my ears with sweet cries of babies. I went mad of joy. And my husband, he was the second most happy. After several tests conducted by the doctor, we had discovered that I could not become expectant. As my husband was the only son of his parent, my mother-in-law used to taunt me as I could not bring an heir in their family, I had to beat these vulgar and hurting taunts until today. Today nobody could tell me anything. Some months later, I was nurturing a child in me. Being so happy, I forgot about the contract I signed before working; I did not have the right to take more than one months of holidays except emergencies. I badly needed holidays, but for that I had to pay the price of losing my job, my career, and my hard-works. As always , my husband supported me to decide what pleased me. But on the other hand, my in-laws beckoned me to resign. So what if I lose my job, at least I......

A Flight That Changed My Life

...view life and perceive it. My story might not outstanding to other people, but for me, it was a spectacular changed. For years in my life, I would never forget the first time I had my first flight. My family and I immigrated to a new country that I never thought of. Because of that flight, my life had changed from one culture to a different culture in just 24 hours on the airplane It was winter in 2006 when my family and I decided to move out of the country. One week before the departure date, my mum told me that her, my brother, and I needed to immigrate to the United State of America for better lives. I was a teenager at the age of 14 years old at that time. I didn’t really know how my life would be in the U.S, but I was surprised to have a chance to travel outside the country for the first time. The time was liked a flash, I couldn’t had a enough time to say farewell to my friends and my special person, who is my great grandmother. The boarding time for my first flight had come, and I was so exited to watch my motherland from above. That was to have a better life for my family, but my tears just dropped for no reasons, may be I was scared or missed my old house. Well, no more tears to wasted; I boarded the plane with my family and took off. On August 2006 at nighttime, my plane had landed at International Airport of Houston. From the moment I stepped out of the plane, a whole new destiny of mine were waiting ahead of me, and I knew my life would completely changed.......

Event That Changed My Life

...The day that changed my life It was a phone call from the hospital in S.C to my mom back in MI that changed my life forever. I was 18 years old newly married, traveling around the states with my husband for his job I was in Greenville, S.C. when one of my usual migraines started. Migraines have been a part of my life since the age of 12 so this was not out of the ordinary, until day 3 and no change. We knew something had to be wrong and that’s when the journey to where I am today started. I went to the emergency room to get a Toradol shot as I had before, I explained the situation and the length of the migraine and that when the nurse felt something was more serious than a migraine. I was rushed to the back for an MRI and that when it was seen I had a quarter sized tumor in the center of my brain. They were sending me over to a neurosurgeon to talk about immediate brain surgery the tumor needed to be removed before any further damage was done. I was only a kid all alone with just my husband in a state that we didn’t know a single person and I was being prepped for an overnight stay in the hospital while having to break the news to my mom over the phone. I was admitted at 11 pm and was scheduled to have the surgery at 5 am, after a sleepless night and the hours slowly passing 5 am came and was gone and I had yet to see a nurse or a doctor. A few more hours passed and finally at 3 pm I saw the neurosurgeon who advised that he was releasing me and that he would not be......

What Changed My Life

...Everyone has had an event that has changed his or her life. Mine was the birth of my little brother, Matthew. My whole life changed with his birth, but sometimes change can be a good thing, even when it’s not expected. When my parents first told me that they were having a baby and I would have another brother, but this time I’d be an older brother, I was full of emotions. I was happy and sad at the same time. My whole life was going to change and I wasn’t sure if I was ready. Back then, I did not know what a positive impact this event would have on my life. When Matthew was born (I picked out his name, by the way) I could not stop smiling. There, in the bed, was this little “creature” my parents called their son. Not until I picked him up did I feel the weight of his life on my shoulders, and the weight of the effect I would have on him. I immediately felt I had more responsibility, and I was ready to do anything for my little brother. My whole family took care of him, even the cat, and life was somewhat peaceful during those first few weeks. When my mom went out for the first time in months, I fed him a bottle, and although he spit up most of it and only drank a few drops, it was just as satisfying for me as for Matthew. I was there when he rolled over for the first time, and I was there when he took his first steps. I saw his first tooth come in, and I will soon see his first tooth fall out. I helped feed him his first solid food, which he spit up as well, and I......

First Day of My Life

...“First Day of My Life” Conor Oberst was born on February 15th 1980 in Omaha Nebraska. He has been writing, recording and performing since 1992. He is mostly known for his work with the group “Bright Eyes” but he has also done solo projects and side projects such as Desaparicidos. Conor is also one of the founding members of Saddle Creek Records and Team Love Records, which started such bands as Rilo Kiley, The Faint, and Azura Ray. With Bright Eyes, Conor has released 15 studio albums to this day. In 2005 the band came out with two albums at once, “Digital Ash in a Digital Urn” and “I’m Wide Awake it’s Morning.” The song I have chosen comes from “I’m Wide Awake…” and is the 6th track on the album. It’s a slow acoustic song about love, and love not being returned but overall has an upbeat tempo and meaning. The song is all done acoustic with no percussion or electrical instruments, just the singer and the guitar, with very little other background instruments that you can only sometimes pick out backing up the guitar. This soft approach really lets you listen to the lyrics without being distracted and helps you feel the overall meaning of the song. With the lighter than normal background music and his soft-spoken voice the song is an easy listen that has a lot of emotion behind it. The style of writing he uses for his lyrics are very basic. He uses common words without any catchy hooks or chorus, which, to me makes his words have a deeper meaning. He’s not writing or......

The Day My Life Changed

...The Year My Life Changed As school started back in the fall of 1998 I was in such good spirits. I was a sophomore in high school and I felt good about myself. I was two grades away from completing high school and was looking forward to starting college. But at that point in my life I just wanted to have fun. Back then what seem to be the right thing to me was so very wrong! And I paid the consequences for my actions. The happiness times in my life became the darkest time in my life, I was scared, lost, and bitter. At the end of my ninth grade year I was very happy. I had been promoted to the Tenth grade. I had a wonderful family, a loving boyfriend and some wonderful friends. What more could a girl like me ask for. In August I began my tenth grade year. Over the summer break my boyfriend and I had become even closer. We started doing things that we knew was wrong but we did them anyway. I was so in love so what I thought what we was doing was so right. He was a few years older than me and I felt like he knew what he was doing. So as we continued to do the things I never considered the consequences. Well around the middle of September I started feeling sick. I started getting sick on the stomach to where I was throwing up all the time. My mom told me that I needed to go to the doctor but I put it off for a couple of days. Trying to see if the sickness would go away. But it continued and I finally made an appointment. Upon the arrival to the doctor office I prayed and......

The Day My Business Changed

...I was sitting in a Portland Oregon hotel when four words forever changed my business. The keynote speaker at the meeting, a vice president of channel had just finished a surprisingly lack-luster presentation and opened up for questions. An associate from New York City immediately stood and asked, “Do you consider us competition or partners?”  The VP answered without skipping a beat,  “You are Apple’s competition.” I guess there shouldn’t have been a gasp and rumble throughout the room, but 100+ Authorized Resellers and VARs suddenly realized that they faced an uphill battle. Many would close their doors in the months to come. As an Authorized reseller I bought our Apple branded products from first tier distributors such as Ingram Micro and Tech Data with only small price variances based on the size of the Purchase Order. Smaller PO’s were often ignored or faced delays in shipping. A big reason for the gasp in the room was the increasing trend of Apple product scarcity for resellers. While Apple’s new retail stores had full shelves we had to fight over the leftovers. Often this meant we missed out on the initial surge of purchases made by early adopters. (Eventually Apple would release game-changing products like the iPhone and not allow Apple resellers to sell them.) When Apple opened their new store 5 minutes from one of mine I was forced to pivot or close my doors. We changed from being an Apple Reseller who sold some accessories to more of a system integrator and......

It Changed My Life

...It Changed My Life When a simple day changes your life forever, every day is lived like the last day of your life. Being diagnosed with IH has changed my life.                  After shopping online for new frames because I felt I needed a new prescription for my glasses, I was diagnosed with a rare disease that changed my life forever. My vision had become blurry while wearing my glasses. I went to the mall for a regular vision check at a local Lens Crafters after locating new frames I had wanted for months. Since I needed a new prescription I felt it was the perfect time to get them. After attempting to check my vision and the pressure behind my eyes, the optometrist had determined there was excessive pressure behind my eyes. Because of the excess pressure she was unable to get an accurate reading for a prescription as my vision continued to fluctuate. Instead of leaving with a prescription or receipt for my new glasses in hand. I left with images of the pressure behind my eyes, a new diagnosis of papilledema and a referral to the emergency room. I was admitted into the hospital the same evening after leaving the eye doctor. The diagnosis that the optometrist had given was accurate. The emergency room physician had brought in an optical specialist to confirm there was excessive pressure behind both of my eyes. This is uncommon in young women my age, so the doctor asked many probing questions and concluded they wanted to do some additional test. This was the......

Worst Days of My Life

...Worst Days of My Life A simple life has a different meaning and value for everyone. Life is beautiful, but not always easy, it has problems too, and the challenge lies in facing them with courage, letting the beauty of life act like a balm, which makes the pain bearable, during trying times, by providing hope. I myself experienced a lot of bad days. I may say that because people are more negative, or better to say we remember negative things better than the positive ones. We may handle same problems and facts about life differently, not only because people are different but also it depends on the place, and time the action is taken. One of my worst experiences in life or better to say the worst days of my life was the first year I moved to United States. It was September 9th of 2007, when my family and I went to get our visa for the USA. I remember exactly that day that my brother was standing outside of United States embassy in Turkey. He couldn’t come in because he was over twenty-one, so he was aged out from the family visa that we were supposed to get all together. Everything went well, and after the interview was done we went out to see where my brother is. He was crying outside! He always had a dream of coming to United States, and for that reason that he got aged out, he had to wait for eight more year for his dream to come true. I assume that my mom had the worst day of her life, that she can come to United States, but her son can’t, and has to wait for eight......

Hardest Day of My Life

...Walking into work that Monday morning my stomach was in knots. I was about to find out if all of my hard work and dedication to the company will be nothing but a waste. This is the day we learned that the company will be laying off 25 workers. I have worked for Sams Club for six years now. About a year and a half into my career at Sams I was given a promotion. I was offered a job working in the claims/receiving department. This may not seem like a huge promotion to most, however in a retail situation it is. I not only received a major pay jump but I also was guaranteed a Monday thru Friday, early morning shift. I feel like everyday that I am at work I challenge myself to not only learn more about the company, but to also to help any other department that I can. Although I love my job, it is very routine. Every morning we have what is called a “ten minute win”. This is basically a ten minute meeting with at least one person from every department. Typically these meetings are “all the same” as most employees will tell you. However, there is one meeting that I will never forget. This meeting was held on a Monday morning and everyone in the club was told specifically to attend. When I got to the meeting room everyone was silent. James, the general manager of the store, started to talk. He went on about how sales were down and about how bad the economy was getting. James also talked about how diligently the company was working on ways to boost sales,......

A Day That Changed My Life

...The Moment that changed my life My life was a mess. I was going down roads no man should be traveling. I didn’t care what happened to me or what happened to anyone around me. The only reason I went to work was because I needed money to have fun later that night. My life was a downward spiral and no matter what people said to me, It didn’t matter. I was a waste of space, a burden on everyone around me. I was bored and I was going to have a great time even if that time great time included me hurting everyone around me. There I was working one random Thursday in April when I happen to look out into the restaurant and saw a memory of mine that was sitting at table 52. I asked my friend Kory to ask her if her name was Jessica. Jessica was a friend of mine from middle school. We lived on the same block but we kind of lived our own lives, she had her friends and I had mine, occasionally we would hang out and have fun but nothing more than that. As the years moved on so did we, she went her way in life and I went mine. After Kory came back with the news that it was her, I built up enough courage to go talk to her. It was the usual talk for people of haven’t seen each other for over ten years, awkward at first but comfortable after awhile. Before they left and after a few margaritas we exchanged phone numbers. I found out that she was recently divorced and had a three year old daughter named Blaise. After a few days she called me because she was tired of waiting on me to call. ......
