C1. Team Goals
Our team met via conference call and set out clear tasks for the team to achieve its goals. The team leader allowed the team to engage in conversation regarding how the team would best function and each team member accepted a specific responsibility. We agreed on the following goals: Have task two be a first time acceptance, have a better understanding of leadership styles and how they work together, use this task to make us better leaders and commit to the most open and honest communication with our team members.
The goals for each week were set to aid us in accomplishing the team goals. Our tasks were clearly outlined in the week assignment to include due dates for each assignment as well as the specific items to be completed. Our team also created a team identity “Dynamic Dames" this was an indication from the first meeting that the team was energized to complete the task and goals ahead.
C1a. Achievement of Goals
Our team was very serious in working towards achieving its goals. Assignments were turned in a timely fashion and each task was met weekly. There were two instances when team members needed an extra day to turn in the assignment. They effectively communicated their challenge and ask the team for their understanding. Our team leader was time on task with her task and hand the same expectations of her team members. Team members agreed to communicate every Monday evening by 8:00 pm and each member lived up to that method of communication. The different leadership styles of the team members were displayed in the information they provided on the Monday check in email. Some team members provided detail information while others were very limited in the information they shared. Overall the team work very well together. The communication was honest and open. Our team leader was very instrumental in ensuring that the tem stayed focused on meeting the timelines as laid out in our contract, which showed a level of commitment of all team members. We also got a first ad opportunity to see the different leadership styles at work.
C2. Motivation Strategies or Theories
The Coaching and recognition motivation strategy was used by our team to motivate team members. This Strategy involves team members motivating others with the necessary recognition and praise as we went about completing our tasks. This was important to keep the team momentum and motivation up to complete the task.
Our team utilized the 'Goal Theory, to motivate the team members. Hard goals were set to include timelines with the expectation that each week's goal would be met by all members of the team. Setting team goals realistic and giving consideration for team members other responsibilities was an important part of our motivation strategy.

C2. a. Utilization of Motivation Strategies or Theories We utilized the motivation and recognition strategy approach my praising the compiler for a job well done each time she submitted the handbook for review. Members of the team also sent out emails with word of encouragement such as "We are well on our way, Go Team! This allowed our team members to build relationships as others chimed in to give updates on where they were on the task. We were able to coach each other and recognize each other’s strengths and weaknesses when we engaged in our weekly chats. Team members also, notified others on the team when they passed task 1, this help to motivate others to complete the assignments.

C3. Influence Strategies or Theories
The team chose the influence strategies of influence by example and respect and rational persuasion. The example and respect influence strategy is used to influence other through example and respect for the values of each team member contributes. This allows each member to feel that their contribution is worthwhile and helps to bring about comfortable engagement amongst teams. The influence of rational persuasion allows for team members to back up the concepts they bring to be used within the team. This allows each team member to use their experience and knowledge for team input, and requires team members to support the recommendations of other.
C3a. Utilization of Influence Strategies or Theories
These influence strategies were used when we met to agree on how we would approach the task and how would meet our goals. Each team member was given an opportunity to provide and input and recommendations. Team members listen and ask questions to gain a better understanding of what team members were expressing as recommendations as the best strategies motivating the team, team communication, conflict resolution and the overall goal setting of the team. The two influence strategies where chosen as we wrapped up our first meeting based on the way we communicated and how those strategies were defined. Consideration was given to and how we interacted and decided these were the best fit for the team as we had already begun utilizing them in our first team interaction.
C4. Effectiveness of Team Communication Plan
The team used email and text messaging as our form of communication. Text messaging was used for urgent messages. If a message is determined urgent by team members we would set up a call. We agreed that emails will be sent by everyone on Mondays of each week to communicate with the team by 8pm EST. This method of communication proved to be effective since we lived in different places and we all had competing priorities.
C5. Conflict-resolution Strategies or Theories
The motivation strategies the team used to motivate each other are the sharing style and collaborative style. Collaborative Style allows each member to add input into the resolution of the conflict so that every team member has a voice that can be heard. This will ensure the agreement or the team sharing style is where the parties of the conflict give something towards the resolution. These conflict resolution strategies will aid in assisting the team members thorough learning to compromise with each other to reach a resolution if disagreement arise.
C5a. Effectiveness of Conflict-resolution Strategies or Theories
Because our team jelled so well we experienced no conflict amongst our group members. Therefore there was no need for us to use our selected conflict resolution strategies. However I believe if we had to utilize the two strategies we chose "sharing style" and collaborative style" they were we appropriate based on the dynamics of our group. To avoid conflict all tem members were able to share their opinion of matters that arisen and based on the feedback, the final decision was made by the group. All members of the teams’ voice were heard and no one voice was shut down, although we did not necessarily always agree.
C6. Improvement Team Performance
Our team work extremely well together. We stay focused on the task required of us and made good on the commitments that were made. Perhaps we could have improved on how we wrapped up our last interaction. I think we should have had one last teleconference meeting however, the group decided it was not necessary. Overall the team communication was effective. The influence strategies were used by team members when necessary and the goals that the team se were met. We fostered new friendships from this exercise which I believe was one of the most important take always of this task. I also believe we got an opportunity to see our leadership style first hand. While I think most leaders cannot be pinned completely into any one label, my own personal leadership style most closely matches the participative style.
