Executive Summary

I was very pleased for the most part with the tests and assessments I found them very interesting since I started finding out things about myself that I did not know and also verified some of my strengths by doing all the assessments. I found out what my biggest strengths are, I also found out that things I thought I was very good at, it turns out I have a lot of room for improvement; for example, the active listening skills test I though I was an extremely good listener and it turns out I am not very good. I am happy to have figured this out that way I can work on improving my listening skills. I also liked the personality test a lot because it showed me what type of person I am. I did this test very carefully to get the most accurate results possible and I found out that things that are shocking to me; for example, I am a ISFP type of person this means that I am very interested in fine arts and that I enjoy and like expressions primarily through art. I would have never imagined this. The strength finder test is a test that I personally had a bit of hard time doing since sometimes I found myself very inclined to answer both choices. This test also surprised me in a good way learning that my top five themes are: analytical, belief, individualization, achiever, and competition. I knew I had some of these talents however, I did not know I had them so developed. Lastly the competencies assignment was the one I enjoyed the most since I could see the different type of competencies under the different categories. This helped me understand each competency more and create awareness in myself to further develop ones in certain categories more. By reading this assignment I learned more about myself it made me dig deep within myself and I found out that I have an ability to delegate very efficiently. I have been constantly apply this in my life without recognizing. Overall I think all the assignments were very helpful in getting to know myself.

Strength Finder

The results I got for the Strength Finder 2.0 were vey interesting and surprising at the same time because it says that my top five strengths are analytical, belief, individualization, achiever, and competition. I was not expecting to have analytical as my biggest strength. This really caught my eye because even though I know I’m a bit analytical I did not know it was to this level. Another one that caught me a bit by surprise was individualization because I was not expecting it to be my number three strength, I did not know I had the quality to figure out how people who are very different can work together effectively. I learned that I set up patterns for doing specific types of tasks. I also found out that I don’t move without a plan, I seem to always calculate and gather data and study it very carefully before I decide to take action and come to a conclusion.
Personality Test

The next test I took was the Similar Minds Personality Test. This test made my concentrate to my deepest level in order to get the most accurate results. I found out that I am a pretty balanced person for the most part; nevertheless, there is one category where there’s a bigger difference this is sensing which I am 65.79% versus intuitive which is 34.21. I was extremely shocked to be categorized as an “artist” since I had not clue whatsoever that I was any close to this particular personality style. This was not a surprise to me since I have been in positions where if I would have let my intuition make up my answer then I would have been wrong so I always try to think with my head and put sense first before reacting. I have always been very careful with intuition since I think it is not one of my biggest strengths.

Introverted (I) 55% versus Extroverted (E) 45%
Sensing (S) 65.79% versus Intuitive 34.21%
Feeling (F) 52.78% versus Thinking 47.22%
Perceiving (P) 54.55% versus Judging 45.45%

Active Listening Test

The next test I took was the Active Listening Skills in which I scored a forty-nine out of seventy five. This test was fascinating to me since I did not know listening was broken down into five categories: avoiding interruption, postponing evaluation, showing interest, maintaining interest, and organizing information. I am a pretty good listener in the avoiding interruption part of listening. In the postponing evaluation it shows that I keep an open mind when someone is talking. In the showing interest I did pretty good for the most part; however, I did not do good when I was asked if people can tell when I’m not concentrating since people can often tell when I lose concentration. Maintaining interest is the category that comes next and it is the one where I am extremely bad in. The test shows that I cannot maintain interest when someone else is talking. I knew I did not have this very developed; however, by doing the test I found out that I am very bad at it. The problem is that if I find the subject to be boring or I am not interested that’s when I’m in trouble since my mind wanders around. Lastly, in the organizing information category I rallied back and learned that I am pretty good at organizing the information I am receiving. Overall I did not do as good as I would have wanted in this assignment; nevertheless, this was the test that I think is the most important for me because it is the one in which I need to focus more.

Competencies Index

The last section is the Competencies Index which is divided into three groups: people competencies, business competencies and self management competencies. I felt very identified with attributes in people competencies, for example; motivating others I love and take great pride in motivating other people and pushing them so they can reach there very best level. For example, most of the pictures I post on facebook and instagram are quotes that motive and help you become better “Don’t be afraid to try and fail be afraid not to try since by not trying you have already failed, at the end if you try over and over again and learn from your errors you will be successful” I often put quotes like these in order to motivate and push people to follow their dreams. Relationship building is something I constantly do in order to establish a level of trust between others and me. I have personally read a couple of body language books and rapport is one of the greatest attributes a person can have since it allows you to build a connection with someone else. In the business competencies part I find negotiation skills to be very important since no matter what your career or goals in life are you will most likely be negotiating something. I put this to the test constantly since I work as an administrative assistant and one of my tasks is to negotiate contracts with clients overseas. Another trait that I think is very important in this category is having initiative because I believe that the most successful people in life don’t wait for people to come and tell them everything they have to do, they go out and take act upon themselves and go out of their way in order to get things done. This is a trait I also apply in my job since I read once that you are mediocre in a job if you only do what you are supposed to do. I took this to heart and; for example, I stay overtime and do extra work at my job if it is needed. The last category is the one that I think is the most important. Enthusiasm is a great trait since successful people have this trait. This trait is so important because not only does it affect you it affects everyone around you. If you can have a positive energetic attitude toward everything in life you will overcome the difficult and hard situations that life will throw at you. Stress tolerance is extremely important because work, school, and life itself is stressful. I am constantly put under pressure at work to get new contracts, to collect payments, to make payments, etc. I believe stress tolerance is something essential in order to achieve your dream and goals.

Conclusion

I feel that I have learned a lot about me by taking these tests. They have helped me really see who I am as a person what my strengths are and also show me what areas I should focus a bit more to improve as a person. It is incredible the things you can learn by answering all these questions. I felt very surprised with some qualities in some of the test that I never thought would be strengths of mine and thanks to these test now I know more about myself. These test not only relate to my career but I think they relate to life in general. The things that I learned by taking these tests will make me better not only on a personal level but on a professional level. The most important thing of all is that this is really about getting to know yourself, which is something that people have a hard time figuring out most of the time. I think everyone should take these tests since I think everyone will come away surprised with the results.…...

Company history may play a major role here; many firms have a long-standing record in producing specific lines. For instance, when a sportswear company may try to develop products on sports equipment but will not usually decide also to make and sell bras or evening gowns. Product element is fundamental to the fashion design industry. The continual process of new product development and resulting change drives the whole industry and answers the demand from consumers for a constant stream of new ideas and offerings. . Without the constant generation and introduction of new ideas, the concept of fashion may not exist, the seasonal fashion shows and collections may fade out. Axiomatically, if consumers were not constantly engaged in the process of looking for new products to satisfy their emerging needs, the fashion process could not function either. All of the three brands, H&M, DKNY and PRADA are at the maturity stage of the product life cycle. They all have a long brand history. Miuccia Prada designed Prada in 1988. DKNY was founded by Donna Karan in 1989 in New York. H&M was founded in 1947 in Sweden. At this stage, their products have achieved acceptance by most potential buyers. There is a slow down in sales growth in total. These companies may try to increase their advertising and sales promotion to remind and inform the public of their products and events. There are many things to consider when developing a new product, for example how would you turn your idea into a product, how to overcome technical challenges and how to market your idea and make everyone in the society aware of your product. I believe that marketing is a very significant part of the product development as every company needs to know who their target market and how to reach them. ...Product The marketing mix starts with product part so in this section of the paper will be discussed what does the consumer want and need from the product, the main characteristics and features of the product and also the best ways to choose branding and packaging. Low-involvement consumers This group of consumers mostly has low income and usually buy cheaper things without extra attention before buying a product. To selling goods for low-involvement consumers there are few main important factors of consumer needs and wants from the product. First of all low involvement consumers don’t spend a lot of time thinking about which windscreen wiper has the best quality and which one has to choose - because of habitual decisions. Their primary priority is price. For that reason “50% discount” or “buy 1 and other get for free” can really attract low-involvement consumers. Other important priority is product convenience. Mostly consumers choose those products which attractively displayed and easy to find. The windscreen wipers should be in the center of the store shelves. For consumers it would be eye-catching product. Also accurate information – consumers place a high value. Product Decisions

...Product Decisions Decisions about the product types The decisions about the product types to be offered represent the most critical decisions in determining the future of a company. The management must first decide what products to offer in the market place before other intelligent product decisions pertaining to the product’s physical attributes, packaging branding, and so on, can be made. There are two distinct levels at which such changes take place, namely: the product-mix level and the product-line level. Product-mix as ‘the composite of products offered for sale by a firm or business unit’. Product-line as ‘a group of products that are closely related either because they satisfy a class of need, are used together, are sold to the same customer groups, are marketed through the same type of outlet or fall within given price range’. Decisions at the product-mix level represent the highest order decisions made by the company constraining all the subsequent lower order decisions and identifying the business that the company operates. A company’s product mix refers to the total number of products that are offered for sale. The product mix has certain width, length, depth and consistency (Kotler, 2003). The width of a product mix refers to the total number of different product lines of the company. Customized Product

...Course number Date Customized Products Product customizing can be defined as the process of producing products in response to specific demands of the customers. Customization of products is relevant because it makes distinctions between variety and customized products. Variety simply involves several choices from which a customer can choose (Hall 8). The aim of customization of products is to fulfil individual needs of customers. Basically, many customers do not want choice. Instead, a customer wants exactly what they require. The intention of making customized products is to increase the perceived customers’ values to a specific product. Advances in technology have made product customization economically feasible. This is because willingness to pay for customized products depends on the use of the product and the desire of the product. The willingness of the customers to pay more relies on the standard of products and its negative attributes that can only be avoided through customization mass. The aim of this paper is to examine product customization in different international companies (Darley 54). Petroleum companies are companies that operate within the oil and gas industry in the energy sector. These companies produce oil related products, gas, and petrochemical products. These products have high demands across the world because they form the basic necessities of transport, automobile, and industrial energy sectors. Customization of petroleum products can be better......

...The term innovation can be defined as something original and more effective and, as a consequence, new, that "breaks into" the market or society. Any review particularly on new product development and innovation management will uncover numerous references to 3M. 3M is quite possibly the most innovative company of our times that even CEOs of other visionary companies admire. 3M is best known for its household brands such as Post-it Note, Scotchgard, Scotch tape, and many more. 3M initially failed in its mining business, and eventually stumbled onto most of the successful innovations that we know 3M for, including Post-It, Masking and Scotch tape. There are some key activities and principles that contribute to 3M’s performance which reflected in its approach to innovation namely the variety of management techniques, such as good communications and the setting of clear objectives with a company culture built on more than 90 years of nurturing idea and fostering creativity. Being an “innovating machine”, 3M institutionalized the mechanisms to drive innovation as the "15 percent rule" - technical people spend up to 15 percent of their time on projects of their own choosing or initiative, "25 percent rule" - each division should produce 25 percent of annual sales from new products and services introduced in the previous four years (which later increased to 30 percent).
