Afghanistan welcomes the swift action by the French forces, at the request of the transitional authorities of Mali, to stop the offensive of terrorist, extremist and armed groups towards the south of Mali and is also seriously concerned over the significant on-going food and humanitarian crisis in regions of Mali. Afghanistan also strongly emphasizes the need for all parties to uphold and respect the humanitarian principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality and independence. Afghanistan also commends the initial measures taken so far to restore constitutional order and national unity in Mali and congratulates the efforts to restore the territorial integrity of Mali by the Malian Defence and Security Forces, with the support of French forces and the troops of the African-led International Support Mission in Mali (AFISMA). ...I also knew I didn’t want to be a teacher. I was upset, I felt as if I let my family down and I was also scared; I didn’t have a clue what I wanted to do with my self. I wanted so much more than a job; I wanted to love my career, to be passionate about it, and as much as I loved children and loved teaching, I knew I wasn’t going to be happy as a teacher. When I started at UIC in the winter of 2007 I still wasn’t sure what I was looking for, but I was eager to explore every opportunity that came my way. Very soon after I started at UIC I was assigned to assist the Administrator of Labor Relations and began to learn about labor and employee relations. I was introduced to Human Resources in the public service sector along with University policies and procedures and the Union contracts. I found the work I did challenging and the various people I work with on a daily basis to be interesting, but more than that I found it rewarding to assist both employees and mangers in coming to agreements or understandings. My position in labor relations at University of Illinois Medical Center became further solidified when I applied for and was hired as the Coordinator of Nursing Administrative Services for Nursing Labor and Employee Relations. I have worked in the position of Coordinator now for three years, recently having been converted from an academic employe to civil service with the title of Labor Relations Specialist. I have continued to gain a solid knowledge base in regards to......
