...making similar plans to implement if they are elected. The competition for votes seems more based on the publics trust in the nominee to carry out thier plans and improve on issues rather than the usual party affiliation. With the state being obviously unhappy with how Gibbons handled the position it would almost seem that the state would lean more democratic but that is not the case here as the republican party is been constantly favored. The state has one of the highest unemployment rates in the country and is one of the biggest concerns for voters and politicians alike. Reid has his platform built on creating new jobs to help the crumbling economy, improving education and rebuilding the trust that Nevada has in its' politicians. On the otherside you have Brian Sandoval who is not planning to raise taxes just as Gibbons before him has operated. He supports the death penalty and beleivs in citizens right to bear arms. Sandoval is against the healthcare bill wants to start a teacher pay scale based on performance. Overall The two candidates are splitting the difference with each tackling thier own set of public interests. (Baumer) As the race comes to the finish line Reid is trailing Sandoval by over 20 points. Rasmussen reports survey of likely voters indicates the republican to lead with 58 percent to the democrats 35 percent. Sandoval has led Reid by double digits since February and has never allowed Reid to get close to having a fathomable shot in this election. The......

Argument

...Argument Should the age of drinking alcohol be lowered? One side would argue it should not be changed because people will start drinking at an even younger age. They would also say that more deaths among teenagers will occur by changing the law. Also, they would argue that teenagers are not responsible enough to be drinking at such a young age. The otherside; however, would say it should be changed because it would decrease the amount of teenagers drinking as a whole. They would also argue that it will help teenagers think less about partying and focus more on their school work. The drinking age should not be lowered to drink alcohol. The first problem that could occur by lowering the drinking age is people will start drinking at an even younger age. Now people in high school have partied and drank getting ready for the big twenty one, well what could be next, children in grade school? Teenagers are not able to make such decisions when they are under the influence of alcohol. When drinking you lose train of thought and some people do not remember the next morning. Therefore, Morleo explains “These individuals are at risk of a range of harms including violence and regretted/unprotected sex” (Morleo 1). This quote states that drinking alcohol at such a young age or even at all can make regrets and see things most young teens are not suppose to experience. Drinking alcohol is different for everyone; some people get mean while others get happy and nice. Even alcoholism could......

...turn out all right. We wouldn't even be surprised if he grew up to write a few books (he talks about books quite a lot), books like "Of Human Bondage," "Look Homeward, Angel," or "The Catcher in the Rye"--nothing so childish and innocent as "Seventeen," though. A pretty good small volume of Holden's observations could be put together right now out of Mr. Salinger's book; call it "The Maxims and Moral Reflections of Holden Caulfield," say. Thus, On the Movies: "I can understand somebody going to the movies because there's nothing else to do, but when somebody really wants to go, then it depresses the hell out of me." On Life Is a Game: "If you get on the side where all the hot-shots are, then it's a game, all right. But if you get on the otherside, where there aren't any hot-shots, then what's a game about it? Nothing. No game." On Teachers: "You don't have to think too hard when you talk to a teacher." On War: "I don't think I could stand it if I had to go to war. Music as a Method of Expression

...an artist’s fanbase. Now, don’t get me wrong; I’m a huge fan of rap. I can appreciate almost any form of music, and the dual rhythmic relationship commonly found in rap fascinates me. I’m a fan of Eminem for that reason; his rhythmic talent is insane and the dude can spit the most innovative of syncopations at blazing speeds. But my favorite rapper is Macklemore. Macklemore is a rapper. He is not an entertainer; he is an artist. Ben Haggerty uses the stage name of Macklemore to give his ideas to the people and let them run with them. The song Same Love is all about his longing for equal marriage rights; the music sparked a movement and brought awareness to many members of our younger generation who otherwise could have been clueless. Otherside explores Haggerty’s experience with drugs and how negative of an impact they can have on one’s life; he even references the fact that people come up to him and tell him that his song changed their lives. His song saved them. The song isn’t simply a catchy beat with some cool rhyming lyrics. The song is a message just waiting to be expressed. Artwork, simply put, is the expression of ideas. Whether it be visually or orally, art exposes us to ideas otherwise difficult to understand simply using the written or spoken word. Hip-hop’s message might sometimes be worthless (Bitch Suck Dick and We Get Bitches by Tyler, the Creator are perfect examples, and you probably don’t even need to listen to the songs to understand that). But lyrics......

Research

...not methodologically sound. Research to many researchers and even to their guides, is mostly a scissor and paste job without any insight shed on the collated materials. The consequence is obvious, viz., the research results, quite often, do not reflect the reality or realities. Thus, a systematic study of research methodology is an urgent necessity. Before undertaking research projects, researchers should be well equipped with all the methodological aspects. As such, efforts should be made to provide shortduration intensive courses for meeting this requirement. 2. There is insufficient interaction between the university research departments on one sideand business establishments, government departments and research institutions on the otherside. A great deal of primary data of non-confidential nature remain untouched/untreated by the researchers for want of proper contacts. Efforts should be made to develop satisfactory liaison among all concerned for better and realistic researches. There is need for developing some mechanisms of a university—industry interaction programme sothat academics can get ideas from practitioners on what needs to be researched and practitioners can apply the research done by the academics. 3. Most of the business units in our country do not have the confidence that the material supplied by them to researchers will not be misused and as such they are often reluctant in supplying the needed information to researchers. ...not their title on their name tags, it was very difficult to determine whether a “manager” was actually a shift supervisor, assistant manager or the store manager based on observation - particularly in the Princeton and Hagerstown locations. In the Frederick location, my determination of the highest ranking manager was based on behavioral attributes of the two managers and their interactions with employees. Here is an unedited excerpt from my notes from the Frederick visit: “Mangers on duty today – Steve and the Purple Shirt Guy – Nametag? – purple shirt = Simon. Overall, Simon seems to carry himself in a more professional manner than Steve –which makes me think that Simon is the manager and steve is an assistant manager. On the otherside – steve could be the manager and simon could be trying to prove himself if he was recently promoted and feels he cannot act as buddy-buddy with the employees like he used to. But steve looks older, which might not mean anything because I have outranked/outperformed people 20 years my senior at work before…but Steve was the one who changed the cash drawer…” As you can see from my notes, even though I had an idea of which manager ranked highest in the chain of command, I was not entirely certain. The managers in all locations seemed to “wear many hats”. In Frederick, I saw a manager wipe down a food prep station and some tables in the dining area. In Princeton and Hagerstown, I saw a manager work the register and take customer......
