Graduation Speech It has been a long four years, but here we are, ready to graduate. We worked hard to get to this point, but we did not do it by ourselves. We owe a huge debt of appreciation to our teachers for sharing your talent, knowledge, and time with us. We know it was your job to do it, but you made sure we stayed focused, and reached our goals. You took time to explain assignments, and allowed us to come to your classroom after school for extra help when you could have gone home to spend time with your family.
You put in effort to make lessons more interesting so we would not tune out. You demanded excellence from us whether or not we wanted to give it. To our parents, thank you for supporting us in more ways than it is possible to count. You dragged us out of bed each morning, made sure we were fed and clothed for school. You made sure we was out the door on the bus stop on time, or drove us to school yourselves. You helped us with homework, paid our class fees, and listened to our complaints. You commiserated over our daily dramas, but you tried to give us enough space to learn how to work things out for ourselves. To our custodial staff and lunchroom attendants, thank you for keeping our school clean and safe. To our principal, vice principal and all the office staff, thank you for keeping things running smoothly so our teachers could concentrate on us. To our guidance counselors, thank you for listening and trying to keep us on the right track for graduation. Without your help, some of us might not be graduating today.
As you can see, behind each graduate there must have been at least a dozen people providing support in at least a dozen ways. The best way our graduates can show our gratitude is to make the most of the opportunity we have been given, and go forward into the world with the intention of making it a better place for the generations that follow us.…...

...Jennifer Lopez’s Musical Influence on Society Written By: Samantha Yurchak Mr. Smith 7th Hour English 9A December 4, 2008 Samantha Yurchak Mr. S. Smith English 9A 7th hour 4 December, 2008 Jennifer Lopez’s Influence on Teenage Girls Jennifer Lopez, also known as JLo, influenced many teenage girls during the 1990‘s into the 2000‘s. She has been one of the big trend setters and a very well known actress and singer. In the previous decade many famous mommies were forming a new trend known as the baby bump. Instead of wearing maternity clothes they would simply just show off their growing bellies. This set off a major trend that is now worn all over the United States. Recent articles have revealed that some teens don’t think this is appropriate. “Women shouldn’t reveal themselves like that. What do you think its teaching our children? To go out and get pregnant so they can look cool?” (Hillary Tharp) From her comment you can see that a lot of people don’t think that some of the trends famous people set aren’t very appropriate. But some teenagers might have a different story. “ It’s not that we want to get pregnant to look cool, it’s just that all the people involved in that trend have shown us how to always look like a star. Even when we feel our worst, they have shown us that no matter what we can look sexy.” (Claire Vermont) Parents should be able to trust their children. If they’re think that their children are going and getting...

...Executive Summary A request for a proposal was set by Jennifer Childs, Manager of a mid-size pharmaceutical company, to her three General Managers to propose on the reinvestment of an additional profit of $2,000,000 into the company. She has strained that the proposal should lead to a reduction of cost to the company and or increase in sales. The money would be allocated to one or more of the affected areas. Proposed areas to improve on are: * The Product development department needs upgrading in more laboratory equipment and scientists but the costs involved could absorbed the whole profit amount * Production department needs to be restructured by using employee teams. This could be a good idea, the reasons are as follows: * Suggestions made by employees could be implemented * Cost not too much if work spread over a period of time The only problem we foresee is that Tyler should convinced Jennifer as the things that her father built, weigh up very high for her. * Operational department needs upgrading. Computer equipment can`t handle the volume of transactions – this would require buying new software but this could led to a loss of disruption to the legacy system. It would be suggested that this project being breakdown into phases. * A proposal was made by the Marketing manager to increase his budget to employ more sales representatives, rather than allocating funds to projects as he believe that this will increase sales. Jennifer Go-Go

...How should Jennifer go about making her decision? Jennifer should evaluate each proposal and use criteria that will fairly indicate what project would be best to invest additional money in to for future growth and savings. She can use project selection and develop a set of criteria against which the project will be evaluated, list assumptions that will be used as the basis of the project, gather data and information, and evaluate each project against the determined criteria. 2. What kind of additional data or information should she collect? I believe that she should request information or data regarding the scope, schedule, cost, and customer satisfaction expectations of the projects and their goals. I have explained each below for better understanding. Scope – All the work that must be done to produce all the project deliverables that meet the customer requirements and acceptance criteria and accomplish the project objective. Schedule – A timetable for a project indicating when activities are planned or need to be started and finished. Cost – The overall cost it will require to complete the project in its entirety. Customer Satisfaction – After the project has been completed the customer feels as if they have received the services expected and the project was completed to their standards and expectations. However I know these can be considered restraints and that should be a heavily weighed factor in the decision making in the end. 3. What exactly should Jennifer......

Adrienne Rich's "Aunt Jennifer Tigers"

...Adrienne Rich's "Aunt Jennifer Tigers" is a poem that concerns itself mainly with a woman struggling to accept the indignities of her daily life while being insatiably focused on attaining some sense of immortality once that life ends. Aunt Jennifer must find a way to deal with her unhappy and submissive station in life, and she does so by sewing exciting and memorable works of art. Sewing is her escape and in this case she's escaping to a jungle where wild animals rule the land and never show fear. The tigers created by Aunt Jennifer are beasts demanding respect from even their predators. This demand for respect is something that Aunt Jennifer is incapable of doing for herself. In the meantime, she will deal with her problems by escaping from them. This escape into her art is shown vividly in the opening stanza of the poem where the imagery is vibrant and alive and shows what Aunt Jennifer is capable of doing; it also provides a glimpse into Aunt Jennifer's subconscious in its portrayal of animals who don't allow themselves to be victimized by anyone. The tigers are literally prancing across the screen. The image of something prancing immediately brings to mind a being that is confident and self-assured and happy; all things that Aunt Jennifer is not. The tigers are not just simply tigers, of course. They are "Bright topaz denizens of a world of green" (2). The use of colors implies that Aunt Jennifer's tigers and their land are more vital and......
