Bringing Home The Bacon
1A. First, Smiths targets are upper-middle income households; since buyers enjoy the packages of Smith’s Home Foods, they should have a freezer or they have the option to buy from SHF. Smith’s offers packaging prices ranges between 655$ reaching to $1532. The prices include tax and finance charges excluding the variable cost of the delivery, which is $30. SHF’s country hams warehousing and cold storage facilities. They have a one-ton pick up truck that is equipped with a freezer box to make the delivery to their customers; however, the two best employees and salespeople of SHF do the deliveries. They make the deliveries in person and put all the products with their own hands into the customers’ freezers.
Third, the promotional strategy that SHF has go along is by having full-time salespersons. These salespersons are trained to communicate with their prospect customers. Whenever a call is made, he should meet up with the customer for almost two hours informing the customer about the packages offered and to be able to do so, each salesperson has a three-ring binder that contains all the information needed for a sales presentation. They also use the mass-selling technique where they relied on posting an advertisement in a local newspaper and giving away $10.
In terms of SHF’s competitive region, they never had a competitor nearby because the larger, food company called Southern Foods of Greensboro NC operate in North Carolina and other states don’t target the Ashton Area. Bacons Rebellion

...Berkeley and Nathanial Bacon would take this plight to another level. Sir William Berkeley was the first Governor of the new colony and the Kings favorite. He prided himself in being fair and wanted to maintain peace with the Native Americans. Nathanial Bacon, on the other hand, was a spoiled rich kid who was sent to Jamestown by his father to grow up. He became Berkeley's antagonist. As the conditions in the colonies worsened, they settlers needed to blame someone and so the Indians became the prime target. As Berkeley worked diligently to maintain peace and work on compromises with the natives as he set land aside for them. Bacon refused to listen, was outraged as he felt Berkeley's policies were unfair to the settlers, and favored the natives. As a result, the people became divided and started choosing sides. When the Susquehannock tribe attacked a plantation owner for cheating them out of a fair trade, Bacon had his motive to strike. He gathered supporters who were already disillusioned with the situation of the colony, and declared war on the Indians against Berkeley's decision. Bacon's group attacked the tribe taking the land they natives called home. Berkeley denounced the attacked and promised a full investigation, but no one was listening at this time. The Susquehannock were grievously outraged and sought allies as they planned and fulfilled their next attack on the colonists. Thirty-six Virginians were killed and Bacon was able to......

A daughter of a fugitive Mexican professor turned trucker, who grows up on the road, sheltered by her federally fearing father. She has been named several times. Sir Francis Bacon

...Consider your response to the following three points of discussion: 1. Sir Francis Bacon states “The duty and office of rhetoric is to apply reason to imagination for the better moving of the will”. Has Orwell been able to move your will to improve your writing? If yes, explain how and why. If you answer no, explain what type of appeal would have been more effective and why. Orwell has been able to move me in his speech. Although very long and confusing at times, he has persuaded me to change my writing with his words. Orwell has used evidence, rhetorical devices, logos, pathos and ethos in his speech. He shows that, yes the English language is declining fast in equality. He has many reasoning and examples of how the language is declining and his speech is very convincing. I have learnt many things for example; Never use a metaphor, simile or other figure of speech which you are used to seeing in print. Never use a long word where a short one will do and never use passive when you can use active. 2. To what extent has Orwell used ethos, pathos and logos effectively in his argument? Explain using evidence from the essay to support your claims. Orwell Used logos the most throughout the entire essay. A perfect example of a logo is  "there is no real need for any of the hundreds of foreign phrases now current in the English language." (3) because he backs up his reasoning and has many strong points. Orwell uses pathos to show off his emotional side and tries to get the......

...salt that we use in everyday cooking. According to UCSF Medical Center (2014),” The average American eats five or more teaspoons of salt each day. This is about 20 times as much as the body needs. In fact, your body needs only 1/4 teaspoon of salt every day”. It seems like we are over using table salt in cooking. I personally always avoided table salt, and never added any extra to my food, and that may be one of the reasons why I developed postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome. I have noticed a big improvement in my symptoms since I increased the salt intake. According to UCSF Medical Center (2014), high sodium foods that people on a low sodium diet should avoid include smoked, cured, salted or canned meat, fish or poultry including bacon, cold cuts, ham, frankfurters, sausage, sardines, caviar and anchovies, frozen dinners, salted nuts, canned beans with added salt. On the other hand foods low in sodium, which would be recommended for people on this diet would be any fresh or frozen beef, lamb, pork, poultry and fish, Eggs and egg substitutes, Low-sodium peanut butter, dry peas and beans (not canned), milk, yogurt, etc. It seems like anything that is highly processed contains too much salt, and should be avoided by people on a low sodium diet. As far as how people feel while being on this diet, I would like to explain how I personally felt because my salt intake was minimal for years. I would get light headed very easily. Home

...Courtney Davis October 2, 2014 Bethany Quest III First Essay What is Home? The definition of home is the place where one lives permanently, especially as a member of a family or household or an institution for people needing professional care or supervision. This definition describes home in the most basic form that truly has no other meaning. The first definition does not take into account the millions of people who possibly do not have a permanent residence or who has no family. It seems to suggest home is a place without personal value; well I think that the term home has a considerably large amount of personal significance that give it a different definition depending on each individual. Home is a place that one would want to go to. “I just want to go home”, clearly indicates a want to go to a certain place. This goes back into the notion that home does not specifically have to be a house. There are plenty of people who feel at home in places that are nowhere close to a permanent residence. There are some people who live in the city, but feel like they are at home when they visit the mountain side. To feel at home, I think, constitutes being at home no matter where it may be. It is a place where people can be content or possibly happy. Home is a place where one could live according to who they feel that they are. Home is a place of expression. It may seem like this is only true for those who own their own house and can decorate...

...most homes and turning Main St. into a ghost town. They mutilated Hollister and destroyed the rich settlements of the Salinas Valley. Waves rolling north rumbled the ground beneath beautiful Los Gatos, shattering Victorian houses and half the business district. They also shook San Jose but most buildings held. The waves swept up the peninsula, rattling securely planted cities such as Palo Alto and Menlo Park. At Stanford University they found old, brittle structures and twisted and cracked them. Ahead laid Candlestick Park, packed with 62,000 fans ripened for disaster. The waves shook fans and bewildered spectators. But Candlestick sits on bedrock and defeated most waves. Now that the waves were weakening with little affect they jiggled San Francisco and towns across the Bay. An attiring vanguard of waves reached San Francisco’s old Market St. area and Marina District and Oakland’s busy waterfront. These areas sit on man made fill. Here the waves found soil in tune with there own vibrations and strummed it like a guitar string. Marina Buildings buckled, many fell. Column joints supporting Oakland’s Interstate 880 failed, and 44 slabs of concrete deck each weighing 600 tons collapsed on cars below. According to him, this will allow an individual to examine the ‘the information of causes, and secrecy of the things in motion’, and also the ascendance in the boundaries of human empire, which is effectual to all the probable things. Many scientific researchers of that time embraced Bacon’s philosophical concentration is not compatible with the scientific theories of that time. Bacons Rebelllions

...Bacon's Rebellion "…where we do well know that all our causes will be impartially heard and equally justice administered to all men," as stated by, Nathaniel Bacon. 1 In 1676 an uprising known as Bacon's Rebellion occurred in Virginia. The immediate cause of this revolt was the dissension between the planters and the Indians. Because Sir William Berkeley, the Governor of Virginia had willingly denied support to the farmers, Bacon assumed leadership of an unauthorized expedition against the Indians. When Bacon learned that Governor Berkeley was rising a force against him, he turned away from the Indians to fight with Berkley. This had now become a serious problem for the governor. When news of this revolt had reached King Charles II, it alarmed him so that he dispatched eleven hundred troops to Virginia, recalled his governor, and appointed a commission to determine the causes of the dissatisfaction. Bacon's Rebellion is considered to be the most important event in the establishment of democracy in colonial America because the right to vote and social equality were denied to the farmers by the local government. The right to vote is a small but crucial part of the democracy. During the first half of the 17th century the farmers on the plantations in Virginia were not able to exercise their right to vote. The only people that were able to vote during this time were the wealthy men who owned land. Overall the colonists had not been treated fairly. They had been over taxed......
