Green Party
Political parties are something I am not too familiar with. Aside from the most popular parties; the republican and democratic parties, I did not know there were other parties. Ignorant I know, but politics was something that I did not really understand. Through this assignment I was able to get to know a few other parties, Constitution, Green, and Libertarian parties. I decided to further investigate the Green party. The Green party is based on principals that are environmentally conscience. According to the Green Party of the United States (gp.org), there are ten key values that they abide by: grassroots democracy social justice and equal opportunity ecological wisdom, non-violence decentralization community-based economic justice feminism and gender equity respect for diversity personal and global responsibility future focus and sustainability

The Green Party stands for the rights that every individual has and welcomes public participation in the government as a means of holding the government accountable. This form of government operates on the belief that everyone is equal and entitled to nondiscriminatory treatment and equality under the law. Greens believe in taking an ecological approach and it is imperative protect the environment. The Green Party way is to implement agricultural practices that will provide sustainability and protection for our resources.
The Green Party does not support the use of violence. In not responding in violent form, they believe that a nonviolent form must be used to handle matters and practice global peace. As an organization the green party does not like the way that the American wealth is distributed. Greens do not believe that democracy has a chance with the affiliation of wealthy families and their ties to the government. Decision-making should be an individual level and not controlled by power players.
The Green Party focuses a lot of emphasis on economic growth that is beneficial to both the environment and the public. A core value of the Greens is the respect that they give every single individual including the respect for feminism, gender equity, and diversity. The corner stone of the Green Party beliefs are personal and global responsibility along with the focus on future sustainability. Empowering individuals and organizations to do their part is
With so many great core values it is easy to see why voters would favor the Green Party over the two major parties. GP.org states, “The Green Party is the party of peace. Both the Democrats and the Republicans are supported heavily by the weapons, fossil fuel and nuclear industries and others. Greens are activists for peace, health, justice, and the well-being of present and future generations. We believe in sustainability and thinking seven generations ahead.” Greens are trying to provide an alternative to the Democratic Party today. The Green Party has the citizen in mind when designing their less bureaucratic agenda. The Greens as opposed to the other two forms of government want a better American and the citizens to have a say and always stay involved so that the government is not too powerful. With the ten key values that the Green Party stands for it is easy to see why they are gaining more popularity. Unlike the other two major parties, the Green Party wants equality for all respects diversity in all its shapes and forms.

...would not get caught. Until the summer I thought my friends and I got away with the best party of all time. My parents never would leave town for a weekend, and on the rare occasions that they did I would not be left the house to myself. I would be stuck staying at a friend’s house until they got back. Except for some reason in summer of 2004 my parents came up to me on a Monday and told me that they would be taking vacation for the weekend and I would have the house to myself. At that very moment I was almost in shock. I could not really say anything. They began to explain rules for when they were gone. Like feed the dog, keep the house clean, cut the grass, water the flowers, basic odds and ends. While they were explaining all of this it was hard to concentrate because I’ve never had the house to myself for a weekend. Light bulbs were sparking in my head, and my parents could see it in my eyes. That is when they then said “Josh you can have a friend over, but no parties”. My heart stopped for a moment. How did they know that is what I was thinking? I came back with the quick response “why would I have a party?” They just laughed and said “you know better”. Later that night I went to my room and thought about what my parents had told me. I know my parents had said no parties, but what is a 16 year old kid supposed to do with a house to himself. In my mind I knew that if I throw a party and get caught there was going to be consequences. Then I thought to myself.......

...such as financial industries where sustainable financing and banking are the new catch-phrases. Delving into the green initiatives in Malaysia, we see the efforts and support that the government has put into realising the green concept in the country. Malaysia gazetted the Environmental Quality (Industrial Effluent) Regulations, Environmental Quality (Sewage) Regulations and Environmental Quality (Control of Pollution from solid waste transfer stations and Landfill) in 2009. Further to this, Malaysia pledged to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by up to 40% by 2020. The seriousness of the Malaysian government’s intentions towards climate change and the need for energy security and green technology, ultimately led to the establishment of the Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water on 9 April 2009. ...! The political party I choice was none of them, they all have their pros and cons. I like the Republicans party at first because they had good beliefs but then I read what they really did. I also had liked the Democratic party but from the looks of it in our current economy they aren't doing to much of a good job. The Green party and Independent party did not offer what I was looking for. Therefore I have not made a decision on what party I would like to be. ! The Republican party had my attention at the begging because of their strong beliefs. For example one of their beliefs was that the government should only intervene in specific cases where society cannot effectively act at the individual level, So limiting the governments power on the people. I like that belief because it lets the people handle their business and if it can not be done then the government can help settle the situation. But as I read along I understood that they just work to better themselves not for the good of the people. They raise the taxes on the poor basically making one work for free, like Mr.Lopez says,” They don’t work for justice they work for just us.” ! The Democratic party sounded good because they too had good strong beliefs. One of their beliefs was that the United States should provide unconditional comfort and support to citizens of other nations. But the Democratic party is too liberal, they try to please everyone by giving them what they want. Whats good for one group of......

...A meeting of minds in a lean, green world | Two years on, one company has used videoconferencing to reduce its emissions by 40,000kg of CO2 a year | | Videoconferencing can save customers money in ongoing overheads and travel costs, as well as slash carbon emissions in the drive for green IT, if the experience of public sector services provider Amey is any guide. Two years ago, Amey engaged BT as the reseller to phase in a videoconferencing set-up, delivered as a managed service. According to Keith Sexton, director of health, safety, environment and quality at Amey, videoconferencing so far saves the organisation. That is in an 11,000-employee company that manages vital infrastructure and public services at 200 locations around the UK, with 80 per cent of its carbon footprint caused by travel and transport activity. "We have an internal target to reduce our carbon. But if you look at the type of clients we bid for, about 80 per cent are government or quasigovernment organizations. These clients expressly ask us what we are doing about our carbon footprint and how we will fit in with the overall governmental savings," said Sexton. Increased savings While video conferencing is not the primary way for Amey to reduce carbon emissions, it has contributed significantly - mainly by enabling staff to have routine meetings over the airwaves rather than having to get in a car or plane and go there. "We did make the decision last year that we would try to reduce our......

...Stephanie Martinez Ms. Hawkins English 976 November 24, 2014 “You Must Vote” On September 21, 2012 Hank Green discusses in his Vlog “You Must Vote” how important it is as an American to vote. Green examines all the horrible reasons why people say that they don’t want to, or why they can’t vote. One example Green gives is “one single vote might not count towards who wins the election but every vote does count” (Green). What he is saying is to those of you who think that your one vote won’t change anything, but in fact it does. You need multiple people to make a difference and you can be one of those people. Green talks about how Americans have a voice in this country and voting is a way to get one of those voices heard. We have pretty good system when it comes to voting what we say goes we all have a say in what happens in this country. “Voting is our responsibility” (Green). Green basically is saying that voting is important so all those excuses you have are just excuses and you need to let your voice be heard. I defiantly agree with Green I have never voted and I realize now that my vote might not have a huge impact to what happens but it is still an impact. If only half of people voted in the United States then the other half of people wouldn’t matter. For example, if they voted gay marriage illegal then it will be because no one else is voting to help change it. If all Americans voted then everyone’s view and opinions would matter. After, watching this video I......

Party

...Dinner Party I walked out into my dinning room where I had been mulling over the table all day. I wanted everything to be just so. I glanced at the place settings for the hundredth time, trying to decide if I should sit Alfred Zingale and Matthias Arndt next to each other. It wasn’t that I was worried about conflicting views, actually it was quiet the contrary, and I didn’t want them to be able to double team the other guests. Finally I decided that just because they have essentially the same opinions, I wouldn’t separate them. In my mind they come as a unit because they had co-authored a book. The place cards had been set and I made up my mind that I would do no more rearranging. I bent over the table in my grey sleeveless dress and lit the deep red candles that were extending upward out of the floral arrangement. The guests would be arriving soon and I began to think over the whole situation. Each person has written a book about the dot com industry, how they can be successful as well as how to invest wisely in one. I was hoping to learn a lot of information so I could make a good decision on whether my company would benefit from being online. These thoughts drifted through my head until the doorbell rang. I opened the door to a short plump woman with reddish brown hair in her late 40’s was standing on my stoop. She wore a pale green dress suit, but looked quite attractive. She extended her arm, shook my hand and introduced herself as Anita Rosen. As the only woman...

...Parties Walking up the stairs to this loud, crowded, messy house, where tonight’s ‘phat’ party is being held. I take in the horrible smell of burning tobacco floating through the air being produced by young adolescents who have their 12oz. in one hand, and their Marlboro burning in the other. Black lungs, lung cancer, and that terrible smokers cough is all I can think of as I walk past these kids to one of my high school buddies who enjoys getting his pack-a-day of nicotine, tar filled cancer sticks. Is their really such thing as a light cigarette? I hold these thoughts to myself, and continue to chitchat with my buddy for the five minutes or so it takes him to finish his ‘cig’ about random, immature, and funny topics that he will probably forget about in the next 30 minutes. I carry on with my night by taking a few short steps into the crowded party house. Waka Flocka Flames “No Hands” is blaring through the air, people dancing, laughing, talking, and flirting while drinking their 12oz. cans. Standing to my left is at first glance a very attractive young woman, at second glance is a college student whose face is peeling due to the excessive amount of makeup covering her entire face. She is already starting to talk like she is a forty year smoker. I just saw her outside with a full 12oz. that she was rapidly finishing in order to get herself to as many of us young people would put it, “On Her Level”. I keep walking and feel my feet sticking to the floor with every......

We will further discuss how these power bases could have been used better to gain compliance from Thomas. The use of power in the case study is apparent through the actions of Thomas’ boss, Davis and the division Vice President McDonald. Thomas Green holds the position of Senior Market Specialist with Dynamic Displays, a company that provides self-service options to many different organizations. ...Green There has been big talk about saving earth or going green, over the past few years. The main purpose is to preserve earth’s natural raw resources because we are running out of natural resources including gas, oil, and coal. There are energy efficient products being promoted such as battery operated cars, appliances, light bulbs and even homes. The problem is many energy efficient items are so expensive, that not everyone can afford to pay for an energy efficient car or an energy efficient home, but there are still many ways to help save the planet earth. Think about what is in that trash bag before you throw it away. Saving the trash could possibly mean saving the earth. If consumers could do something with the trash they discard the manufacturer would not have to use raw natural materials to make products. The average person generates four pounds of trash per day (Brown Par 2 ). If consumers could recycle some of that trash they could reduce landfills. Landfills are a place where your discarded trash goes; it is then buried. Not only are landfills not good for the environment, but they are not good for the wildlife. Another good reason for recycling is it saves energy because the big companies do not have to burn as much energy to produce something new. By using recycled materials it cuts down on the energy consumption as well as the cost for consumers. That means more money in everyone’s pocket. Consumers can also save a lot money recycling because instead of......

Political Parties

...Assignment: Political Parties The first issue I am going to discuss three different political views on is abortion. It seems as though abortion is such a fought on topic between people of different political parties. This is an issue with two clear sides, but one way of looking at that I had not seen before. It was really interesting to see these three different/similar views on such a big topic. First off is the Democratic party. On this issue the Democratic party supports a woman's right to make decisions regarding her pregnancy, including a safe and legal abortion, regardless of ability to pay. They argue that this kind of a decision is intensely personal to the women and her family. In this decision, there is no place for the government or politicians. They are on the side of pro-choice because they believe that each and every woman should be able to decide whether they want to be pregnant and have a baby. Woman should not be forced into doing something with their body just because it is what the government is saying. This kind of a decision should not involve the government. Next I looked at the Green party and their view on abortion. The view of the Green party was actually quite similar to that of the Democrat party. The Green party supports a woman’s right to reproductive choice, no matter her marital status. Also, they believe that a woman should have access to a safe and legal abortion procedure. Like the Democratic party, the Green party is on the side of......
