Today, the computer plays an important role in our lives and we are completely dependent on him.
It has been commonly said that the computer can never replace the human brain, as it is created by humans, but we can’t ignore the fact that computer is much more capable than human brain. There are many ways in which the computer has an edge over man. The computer has the capability to evaluate problems that man can hardly imagine.
Even if a man can calculate the same problems as a computer, the computer can do it faster with 100% accuracy. The computer is clearly superior in many other aspects. In absolute speed of computation and retrieval of data, the computer is obviously by far the stronger.
It has the capacity to handle things on a far bigger scale than the human brain could ever do. Measurements, results, applications can all be done to the smallest details, far beyond the human brain’s capabilities.
Calculations can be done with accuracy nearly impossible. The human brain is easily stressed out by events and loses effectiveness when tired but computer can’t.
On the other hand, though the human brain has a lot of flaws, yet it also has an edge over the computer. It has the capacity to create, unlike the computer and it can work without full input, making logical assumptions about problems.
A person can work with a wide variety of methods, seeing new, more efficient ways of handling problems. It can come up with infinite ways of getting around problems encountered in day to day life, while a computer has a limited memory of new tricks it can come up with, limited by its programming.
It is the human brain that figures out the programming that will allow any improvements for the computer. The human brain can learn to understand anything. It can grasp the central concept of anything.
Also, emotions are not capable in a computer. Emotions and feeling allow the…...

Ge - World' Greatest

... GE works on things that matter. The best people and the best technologies taking on the toughest challenges. Finding solutions in energy, health and home, transportation and finance. Building, powering, moving and curing the world. Not just imagining but doing. The General Electric Company, commonly abbreviated simply to GE, is a major technology conglomerate based in the United States. General Electric was founded in Menlo Park, New Jersey, in 1878, by Thomas Edison, the inventor of the light bulb. It has gone on to become one of the most powerful and dynamic corporations in the world and as of 2008 was the tenth-largest company on Earth in terms of market capitalization. It is viewed by many as being the single most successful conglomerate, and was a conglomerate long before the practice became commonplace in the 1960s. Thomas Edison is widely hailed as a genius, both as an inventor and as a businessman, and it was his vision that laid the groundwork for General Electric. In 1876 he opened his first real workshop in Menlo Park, where he set about exploring the possibilities of many different inventions he had seen at that year’s Centennial Exposition in Philadelphia. This workshop would eventually yield arguably one of the most important inventions of the modern age: the electric light. In 1890, Edison started a company to bring together his various businesses all under one roof, and called it the Edison General Electric Company. Two years later Edison merged with his......

Reaction: the Greatest Miracle in the World

...I’m not fond of reading books but Og Mandino’s The Greatest Miracle in the World had truly captivated my heart and I had found myself reading it over and over again. It is an amazing narrative revealing new secrets for one’s personal happiness and success. It has helped me to boost my self-esteem and to regenerate my desire for a better life that has been lost for some time. It has served as a reminder that I am THE GREATEST MIRACLE IN THE WORLD and that God has never intended for me to fail or to be unhappy. We live in a world that is engulfed with negativity and this book will be of big help to make a difference. If you feel you have lost all hope, this book will completely change your life. It will teach you that you are capable of performing the Greatest Miracle in the World. I already had given a copy of the book for a good friend and hopefully will I be able to give more to others. I highly recommend it to everyone. Best Lines God very often plays man. God will do nothing without man and whenever He works a miracle it is always done through man. Isn’t it ironic? We often think that man usually plays God. God sends people to help us and they serve as representation of Him for us to feel that He is always with us. Our mind is the greatest creation on earth and it can generate the most sublime happiness for its owner—or it can destroy him. Whatever we absorb in our minds will surely reflect in what we do. Yes, our thoughts run our lives. Thousands of thoughts......

...technology have stemmed from one single invention: the internet. “It was the launch of Sputnik by the USSR that spurred the U.S to create the agency which became known as DARPA in February 1958 with the idea of regaining a technological lead over the USSR. (…) As a first step they aimed to connect computers at the Pentagon, Cheyenne Mountain and Strategic Air Command Headquarters (SAC). (..) The funding of a new U.S. backbone by the National Science Foundation in the 1980s, as well as private funding for other commercial backbones, led to worldwide participation in the project and the merger of many networks. The commercialization of what was by the 1990s an international network resulted in its popularization and incorporation into virtually every aspect of modern human life. Today, more than a quarter of the world’s population uses the Internet.” (DENNING, 2013). With the invention of the internet, communication became increasingly simpler, faster and more effective. Several internet based programmes allow the enhacement of communication with loved ones both near and far. Skype allows you to videochat with family members and friends. Facebook allows you to share pictures with your entire friend network and allows them to comment and share them as well. Top 10 Greatest Inventions

...Top 10: Greatest Inventions Of All Time Inventions are pretty useful things, in fact, inventions are very useful things. People are inventing new things all the time - unfortunately, the vast majority of inventions tend to be utterly useless; but every now and then someone comes up with something that completely changes the world and it is these few ideas that this hub is about. Now, there are, undoubtedly many equally great inventions as those on this list, but unfortunately it's had to be cut down to just 10. Things such as language have been omitted from this list for, while they are, indeed, quite useful, they were more developed out of necessity than invented; the same applies to fire - it has always been present on this earth, all we did was work out how to create it on a whim! So what are they? Read on.... 10 - The Wheel: I know what you're thinking: "what, those round things?" well, the short answer is "yes", the long answer: "yes it is". Point is, the wheel is the simplest invention in the universe - you need only scoop up a handful of mud, pat it into a circle and leave it in the sun to dry! So what's so great about it? Well, almost every land vehicle in existence uses wheels as do many many other things like anything with a belt drive (car engines, conveyor belts etc.) In fact, life would be pretty hard without it - but not impossible. The Incas and Aztecs, for example, despite coming up with fully working calendars and a vast knowledge of astronomy, didn't use......

The Internet Has Made the World Smaller

...The Internet Has Made the World Smaller To explain the statement: “The internet has made the world smaller”, the essay will study the positive and negative influences the Internet has on people, and humanity as a whole. Thirty years ago, one will not have even dreamt of getting a copy of a speech, aired by some prominent individual, say a presidential one. There was little hope of ever accessing that information; one couldn’t have even tried to get it. To get it, he/she had to access it physically from the owner and copy it. Nowadays, that information is only a click away. All that a person needs is to Google it or browse through some other search engine or a website (Raymer 2009, 456). A scientist can use the Internet to learn what others colleagues have discovered in the same field. Some years ago, the scientist had to wait until such information was published in some scientific journals. If the journal was published far away, he/she had to wait for many years before the same information was translated say from Russian to English. Today, the scientist will only need the Internet to read an online article, which may even mention some unpublished information in Russian. He/she can even go ahead to use the information provided to search for personal contacts of other scientist and email him/her on some issue. A friendly communication may continue and may even end up in research collaboration. It may later develop to visiting each other’s countries, homes, or Universities!......

Do You Believe That the Greatest Leaders Are Born, Not Made?

...Do you believe that the greatest leaders are born, not made? Saint Leo University Leadership can be viewed as a process in which leaders and followers engage to achieve mutual goals. A leader is a person that displays the characteristics and personality traits of a leader and has the ability to obtain different leadership positions throughout his/her life. It has been said, the single most powerful way to grow as a leader is to become self-aware. (Andersen 2012). Social ability, self confidence, assertiveness, and boldness are all characteristics of natural born leaders. (London 2009) A person’s natural ability to interact with others is called social-ability. All natural leaders display this trait. This characteristic allows leaders to be, understanding, generous, outgoing, friendly, and congenial towards those around them. Those leaders who carry this characteristic usually lands a career in fields that allow them to direct and motivate others. Self-confidence is a fundamental basis from which effective leadership grows. Trying to teach leadership without first building confidence is like building a house on a foundation of sand. (Dao 2008) When you are in a leadership position, you have to not only know when to make a sound judgment, but you have to be able to do so. When looking at a leader’s self-confidence, you have to ask yourself; “ Is this person willing to go where no other leader dared to go?” A person in a position of power who lacks......

...can help determine the wealth, crime rate, and health of a city. Often times he also refers back to linear graphs that display a wide variety of relationships from gas stations and population, to crime rates and population. In doing so he shows a three fourths upward slope within these graphs that represents progress, wealth distribution, or in other cases success for corporations. The natural progression of these linear lines is that eventually there will be a tail-off back towards the bottom, which represents eventual death, or failure. If this is to be true then Geoffrey West points out that all corporations are meant to die. This means Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and many other fortune 500 companies all have a limited shelf life. This essay will reflect on how companies and corporations can keep their momentum and avoid their eventual collapses. In order for corporations to avoid a collapse there are many important factors that they must focus on to prevent this from happening. These factors all embrace innovation and are embracing technology, thinking outside the box, and allowing your company to be globally relevant. Within Geoffrey’s presentation on TED he references that each corporation, “Has a super-exponential unbounded growth.” (West) This represents the continued success of a firm, but unfortunately each super-exponential unbounded growth at some point will experience a collapse. The collapse within this situation represents the failure or death of a firm.......

Computer Simulated World

...talked about topics in the entire world. Many of the conspiracies out there range from either it’s possible to completely off the wall. The one conspiracy theory that caught my interest out of all the others though, was the idea that we are living in a computer simulation created by an intelligent race. Many of the most intelligent people in the world believe we are actually living in a computer simulated universe, and these are some of the most brilliant minds in the world. The computer simulation theory is primarily based around the matrix movie which I have a small picture of in Figure A (hitman, 2011), but not entirely based around it. In the theory, scientists believe that we are all in a computer simulation being run by a higher being or beings. One of the biggest arguments here would probably be that we have free will, so we cannot just be in a simulation. Many people believe though that God works in mysterious ways and in the end has a master plan for us all. What if God is just controlling us just like we control characters on games like the Sims, and we just think that we are actually in control of our destinies? One of the leading theories scientist claim proves this idea is the Brain-In-A-Vat Argument. In this theory a person’s brain is removed from their body and is floating in life sustaining fluid. The brain then is connected with wires that simulate the impulses it would normally be receiving, all being sent by the computer creating the simulation. The......

The Greatest Movie Ever Sold

...The Greatest Movie Ever Sold Media is everywhere, it became a part of our life. We are exposed to thousands of ad messages every day and it's hard to imagine how it would feel to live without them constantly surrounding us. Today we see ads in print publications, TV commercials, emails, on different products, massively scattered in sport venues, and it’s even spreading into public spaces. In his documentary, Morgan Spurlock delivered a fascinating satire of the process of placing products into movies and tried to delve into the nature of advertising in our society. In the movie Spurlock talks about product marketing while using product placement to get brands to sponsor his movie. Of course, some of the brands (Guess, Harmel Foods, Ford, Nike, Red Bull, etc.) refuse his request to sponsor his endeavor and take part in the movie. Spurlock's reputation doesn't seem good enough for them, they are scared that being featured in this movie is going to damage their brand image. But brands, who want to be considered transparent or playful probably will be interested in sponsoring such a film. Some of the companies that agreed to sponsor the movie are Hyatt, POM Wonderful, Mini Cooper, JetBlue. They were taking risks, considering the fact that Spurlock was the man behind “Supersize Me” documentary, but overall I think it worked out well for them. Besides, Spurlock made sure that his brands were a good match for his movie. He analyzed his brand personality and then made sure the......

A Computer/Tech Invention That Will Probably Shape This Century

...* * A computer/tech invention that will probably shape this century (Exemplification essay) I believe that the most important invention that will shape the world this century is the Internet. Internet can be defined as the worldwide interconnection of individual networks operated by government, industry, academia, and private parties. Large numbers of people now have access to the internet. The number of individuals accessing the internet is growing exponentially. The Internet has made it possible for the everyday person to access information from pretty much anywhere in the world. This revolution in sharing information has changed the world dramatically. Now we can contact people from countries on the other side of the world with relatively no effort. It is because of internet we are able to search and access information, share ideas, sells products, and stay in touch with friends and family from across the globe. Internet is great for business. It has global reach and global audience. Customers don't have to sit in traffic, find a parking space, and walk through countless aisles to find and examine goods. And they don't have to drive all the way to a store, only to find out that the desired product is out of stock. In addition to this it stays open 24hrs a day and 7 days a week. You don't have to worry about weekends or federal holidays. From a consumer's perspective as well as a provider's, business can be consummated at any time. The fact that the......

...Coach carter has always left a ever lasting impression on me because of the hard work and dedication displayed by coach Ken Carter. In 1999, Carter became a coach in his old high school located in Richmond, CA. The high school is surrounded by poverty and violence from gangs in surrounding areas. Little did Carter know he became a coach for a basketball team that was very de-motivated, and lacking the grades required to get into College/University. Carter wanted the maximum commitment from his team, he decided to create a contract that states that the boys will have to do things that they were never used to. The contract entails that the boys will have to show respectful behavior, dress in a professional manner, and obtain sufficient grades in order to stay apart of the team. He realized that his team was failing to meet the requirements of the contract in regards to grades and takes immediate action and cancels all team activities and locks the court until the grades prove otherwise from all members of the team. Biblical World Essay

...BIBLICAL WORLDVIEW ESSAY Within the bible there are several mentions of how mankind is created in God’s image. This is the foundation to the Christian faith. In the world of Nursing we have to be careful on how we discuss any religion. I have learn throughout the years to just come out and ask a person and to ask them if there is any restriction within their religion as pertaining to the way I as a nurse would take care of them. “The historical biblical account of the creation of Adam and Eve (Genesis 1:26-27) states that God made the first man and woman 'in His own image'” (Grigg, 2015). It is important to set a good example since we have been created in the image of God. Being in the world of nursing I try to be mindful of what I say and do since I am a representation of God. It is always important to show goodness, kindness and to have empathy for those whom you are taking care of. There are many challenges face within nursing from the patients, the patient families and just the overall work environment. I try to remain positive and just let the patient voice what is going on with them. The best form of effective communication is just to listen. I teach them how to keep positive and help them to determine their own outcome. If they are a Christian, I remind them that God is there to help guide them through these times and he will provide an answer. “Hebrews 1:2 tells us that when God made the worlds (KJV) or universe (NIV), He did so by His Son” (Grigg,......
