Elijah Heart Center

...Introduction Elijah Heart Center(EHC) is a full service cardiac hospital with 140 beds available to patient care. EHC is a New York community based hospital that also provides the full spectrum of outpatient services as well as rehabilitation. While EHC has had no problem with the number of patients that comes in to use their services as well as the revenue that is produced they are realizing that the profitability has been steadily dropping. In this paper I will discuss short term alternative financial sources that EHC can use to increase its revenue. Short Term financings The first step in getting EHC finances back in order is to first assess where cuts can be made over a short and long period of time. The first cost cut that I feel will help increase revenue is to cut the cost of wages given to contract nurses. If EHC looks to employee within their own area this will help employee locals and help the community as well as cut cost on bring nurses in from other states on a contractible bases. This will also help to cut cost because not only was EHC paying the nurses nearly twice as much as their own nurses but they also had to pay the contracting company and the nursing manager. These were fees that were easily cut and did not have an effect on the patient’s because it does not interfere with the hospital normal staff that keeps the hospital going and knows how the hospital should conduct itself. The second way to increase revenue is to hire nurse’s assistant’s while......

...ESAMI EXECUTIVE MBA ASSIGNMENT FOR ELIJAH S. DLAMINI INTAKE 27 MBABANE COURSE: CG601 STUDENT ID# 27EMB12312 INSTRUCTOR: MR G. KACHALI TOPIC DISCUSS THE NEXUS BETWEEN CORPORATE GOVERNANCE AND PREVENTION OF FRAUD AND CORRUPTION IN THE WORKPLACE This paper will discuss the relationship between corporate governance and prevention of Fraud. One can safely argue that corporate governance is a medicine to cure corporate fraud in an organisation. The systems, procedures and policies set by the organisation to curb anomalies such as fraud and corruption largely entail corporate governance. To make this task easier, this paper shall define in detail the meaning of corporate fraud and later proceed by way of analysing how it can curbed by corporate governance. Wikipedia defines fraud as follows: It is a deception made for personal gain at the expense of an entity. According to GAW Kachali, it involves deception, confidence and trickery. There is local, national, regional and global resurgence of interest on how to prevent all forms of unethical practices such as corruption and fraud in both private and public sector including public bodies. Generally institutions with resources to prevent or combat corruption and fraud in all sectors seem to thrive. This is mainly successful through the setting up of strong pillars which promote transparency, fairness, professionalism, integrity and democracy in running the organisation; this is made possible by corporate governance.......

Elijah Heart Center Financial Review

...Elijah Heart Center Financial Review Elijah Heart Center is encountering a financial cash flow hardship, which is familiar for specialized health care businesses. This is a complex situation, which will require a number of strategies to assist in minimizing cost while increasing revenue and patient care, obtaining the newest technology, and expanding the facility without going further into the red. With this review, there will be decisions and measures implemented to improve the declining cash flow distress. There will be a three part review; cost cutting measures that will have minimum impact on the patients, improve the inventory of equipment, and the appropriate choice to expand. The initial requirement in this situation is to save the organization $900.00 for the first year and improving the cash flow problem immediately, while waiting to receive $2,300,000.00 from Medicare and other organizations. There are a number of cost cutting options, but depending on the combination chosen it can have a severe effect on the patients and organization. The options included downsizing (permanent) staff, changing the skill mix and a few areas (benefits, agency staff, and length-of-stay) of reduction. Therefore, as the individual in charge to make these decisions, I have chosen to reducing agency staff and altering or changing the skill mix. This will slightly affect the patients and will help alleviate the cash flow difficulties, along with having an annual savings for the......

Analysis of Zora Neale Hurston's Spunk

...Kanty had come back to get revenge. The language used by the characters helps to establish the setting of the story and gives the reader an understanding of why voodoo is a plausible explanation for the outcome. “Looka theah folkses!” is what Elijah Mosley states to the others in the store. This is the first indication that the characters in this short story are not the most educated, and are probably from some small backwoods town. We quickly get confirmation of this when we learn that he is alerting them that Spunk Banks, a giant, brown-skinned man, “who aint skeered of nothin’ on God’s green footstool”, is sauntering up the one street in the village, with a small pretty woman clinging lovingly to his arm. Clearly, the store is where people hang out, and everyone knows that the woman with Spunk is Lena Kanty, Joe’s wife. Coming from a large city, I would not expect everyone to know each other, so seeing a couple walking down the street would not be significant to me. In this context however, I understand that something is not right and trouble is coming. When Joe walked in to the store, the talking ceased; the men looked at each other and winked. “Say, Joe, how’s everything up yo’ way? How’s yo’ wife?” asked Elijah. Spoken like a friend, but it is clear that he is trying to start some mess. “Aw “Lige, you oughtn’t to do nothin’ like that” Walter grumbled. This dialogue makes the conflict between Spunk and Joe very clear. Not only does Joe know that his wife......

The objective of this essay is to discuss the decisions attained in the simulation of Elijah Heart Center, which is a specialty hospital with expertise in cardiac catherization, pulmonology, and nephrology and a host of other specialties. The three major decision made for the Elijah Heart Center was through bridging a working capital shortage, evaluation of funding options for obtaining medical equipment and funding options for capital expansion. The decisions made through various choices to improve the outcome of each financial situation; the choices could have either improved or worsened the unhealthy trend of loss profitability for the health care organization. The simulation put forward two financing options and five appropriate economizing methods to improve the capital shortage within Elijah Heart Center. The two appropriate economizing methods choose to improve the capital shortage were reducing benefits and reduce proportion of contracted staff. Despite the fact, reducing benefits was thought to be the best choice for Elijah Heart Center, rather than downsizing, this choice in method was not helpful to the organization. Reducing benefits of employees within the organization may save money; however, it reduces......

The End Times

...a blessing to the whole world, exalting Jesus as the Savior of the world and calling all people to worship Him in truth and in spirit. ------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------- Elijah who is to come Prophecy speaks of great events in the end times. For instance, God promised to send Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day. Let us examine these verses. “Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:” Malachi 4:5. God’s promises never fail. Elijah must indeed come. How does Elijah come, and how are we to know that it is indeed Elijah? This prophecy must be fulfilled in the last days. Is it being fulfilled around us? Have you seen Elijah the prophet? It was clear that Before the Messiah comes to Israel, Elijah would appear. So, in connection with the coming of the Messiah, Elijah was expected to appear in Israel. Was this fulfilled?? And what would be the work of this prophet?? Exegesis of the Gospels

... Exegesis Literary Criticism Context The book of Luke 9: 28-36 talks about “The Transfiguration” of Jesus that happened on a mountain with the presence of Peter, John, and James. Before the event, several other acts involving Jesus had occurred. First, Christ sent his disciples to proclaim the Kingdom of God to the people upon given authority and power of casting out demons. Their mission was expected to spread the word in every home they were welcomed. The results of such a mission caused confusion to the Galilean ruler, Herod Antipas. He was wondering who Jesus was, because he was given many names like John the Baptist, Elijah or some of the past prophets who had risen from the dead (“The Transfiguration (Luke 9:27-36)”). The other event before the transfiguration was the feeding of five thousand people. When the disciples had returned from their mission as seen earlier, they relocated to a quiet place for a talk with Jesus; however, a multitude of people followed them upon their prevue to the information. Jesus used five loaves of bread and two fish to feed them after a day’s preaching. Later, when they were alone with Jesus, following the miracle Peter gives his declaration on what he thinks who Jesus was. The last event of the transfiguration was the prediction of Jesus about his death and warning the disciples not to inform people of his true form and nature. After the transfiguration, Jesus was also involved in many other activities. First, He heals a boy who is......

The Transfiguration According to Mark: God’s Disguised Offering of Metanoia

...The Transfiguration according to Mark: God’s Disguised Offering of Metanoia December 9, 2014 New Testament Studies (THEO 2100) Mark 9:2-10 (NRSV) 2Six days later, Jesus took with him Peter and James and John, and led them up a high mountain apart, by themselves. And he was transfigured before them, 3and his clothes became dazzling white, such as no one on earth could bleach them. 4And there appeared to them Elijah with Moses, who were talking with Jesus. 5Then Peter said to Jesus, “Rabbi, it is good for us to be here; let us make three dwellings, one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.” 6He did not know what to say, for they were terrified. 7Then a cloud overshadowed them, and from the cloud there came a voice, “This is my Son, the Beloved; listen to him!” 8Suddenly when they looked around, they saw no one with them any more, but only Jesus. 9As they were coming down the mountain, he ordered them to tell no one about what they had seen, until after the Son of Man had risen from the dead. 10So they kept the matter to themselves, questioning what this rising from the dead could mean. *This paper will always use the NRSV translation unless otherwise indicated. Introduction Many scholars argue that the Gospel according to Mark is the first written Gospel proclaiming the “good news” of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Mark’s powerful inclusion of the transfiguration of Jesus in 9:2-10 has led many scholars to argue its......

...Elijah Heart Center Stimulation University of Phoenix FIN/HC571 Elijah Heart Center (EHC), is a healthcare organization focused on cardiac health. The facility is equipped to handle the full spectrum of cardiovascular services for physicians and patients. The hospital also provides outpatient services for less invasive procedures and clinical care. Although the organization’s patient volume is stable and increasing in volume rapidly, there is a deficit in regards to profitability.
