Cyberschools 2

Cyberschools are not just a growing trend they are the new foundation of successful education. Technology has grown dramatically causing more schools to teach students via a virtual classroom. Cyberschools allows students to take most or all their required courses online to obtain a diploma, certificate, or the proper training for a job.
Cyberschools are currently an alternative to traditional school where students are allowed to just focus on their education without all the pressure coming from a traditional school. The growth of cyberschools is presented in the statistics. Nationwide, an estimated 1.03 million students at the K-12 level took an online course in 2007-8, up 47 percent from two years earlier. (Sloan Consortium). Over 6.1 million students were taking at least one online course during the fall 2010 term; an increase of 560,000 students over the number reported the previous year. (Babson Survey Research Group).
There are endless advantages to cyberschools, they offer customized education, flexibility, an expansive curriculum, a safe learning environment, and the opportunity to become a self-motivated, self-disciplined learner who can confidently pursue their education. Cyberschools interact with students via email, discussion boards, and are always ready to answer specific

questions about assignments and reports. Because there is no classroom disruption and one-on-one interaction is highly encouraged, students tend to get more out of the lessons than they would in a large class. More importantly due to the advantages cyberschools offer more students can complete their educational goals they normally would not be able to achieve in a traditional…...

Motivating High School Students

...WEEK 5 MILESTONE PROJECT: FINAL PROJECT 4 other methods of digital learning such as cyberschools. Cyberschools, also known as virtual charter schools, are changing the landscape of education using digital teaching. Each student works at his or her own pace and learning capability and the more adept students can become bored and under-stimulated due to the teacher having to slow down the teaching pace to assist the slower students in the classroom. “Virtual charter schools allow students to work at their own pace, spending longer on those concepts or subjects that are more difficult, while moving quickly onto more challenging topics as soon as they are ready” (publicschoolreview). Cyberschools are set up like offices with each student having a cubicle with a computer system. Some might worry about social skills and interacting with others as a problem with cyberschools replacing the crowded classrooms with individual cubicles and computer systems. “With access to interactive video sessions, chat rooms and e- mail students can collaborate with each other” (Nadell, Langan & Comodromos, 2011, p. 283). Even teaching becomes virtual in the cyberschools. Students will not have to wait on a teacher to get to them from another student in cyberschools as they do in the traditional classroom setting. “When necessary, real-time instructors will appear on the distance learning......

...Virtual schools Virtual schools, also known as cyberschools, are schools that are conducted entirely on the Internet, so that students may attend from any location with online access. Firstly, transportation can be expensive and often is the deciding factor on whether students need is a place with reliable Internet access. This means students are free to work from home, at the library, or any place of their choosing. Students who enjoy traveling can attend classes regularly with a laptop and wireless Internet card that will allow them to go to school from any location. Besides, virtual schools offer more flexibility for students who aren't able to commit to a regular school schedule. Students have more power to set and change their school schedule, and have many options to continue their education, no matter what their work and personal life schedules might look like. Naturally, most online programs don't have all of the fun elements of high schools: prom, senior day, graduation, etc. If losing these aspects of traditional high school doesn't bother you, there is still another concern along the same lines-isolation. Some online students may develop anti-social feelings. Make sure your online high school has forums where other students and you can chat. If the school doesn't offer forums, see if they have any recommendations to avoid feeling cut-off from peers. Another consideration is that many people find it a challenge to focus on completing......

Online Education

...Week 1 Application There is a lot of controversies regarding traditional versus online education. Many students behave differently in person than online, and the advantage of “ thinking ahead “ about the topic that’s being discussed in the comfort of your home when the time is right is a big reason cyberschool are becoming so popular. Even with the benefits that online school offer, I am a big fan of traditional education particularly when it comes to children. But as an adult enrolled in an online program I value the advantages they have to offer. Cyberschools have become more and more popular for the past decade and many students benefit from earning a higher degree of education while taking care of many other responsibilities. Full-time employees who want to advance their education are benefiting from online programs. At first I was hesitant to start my BSN program online, and that’s because I doubt myself when I write any message perhaps overanalyzing how my writings will be interpreted and secondly my lack of technology skills. I was convinced by few of my coworkers that just completed their degree online, the convenience of being at home, being able to communicate with other students despite barriers of place and time, and nonetheless improving my technology and writing skills. “ Every student will work at her pace.” (Nadell, Langan, Comodromos, 2011, p. 283). The range of options for the degree programs that many online colleges offer are wider than public......

I strongly agree cyberschool is the good solution to this problem to make students to focus on their studies and become successful in their carrier and life. Here is some of the reason why I support the cyberschools, cost effective, working with our own envirnment, less distraction compared to traditional schools, parents are involved directly on their children’s education, self confident about what ever the student do, time management. there are some disadvantages, that can be managed with proper planning. 1. When the student goes to school, the parents have to plan about how they are going to spend their money , time, private tuition fees, transportation.
