Studies in Interpersonal Communications
Question one
Behavioral blend refers to application of different personality types to exhibit a certain behavior (Carbonell, 2008). Human beings have different personalities which define the character of an individual. For instance, a person may be a good decision maker and at the same time shy or influential. These different characteristics or traits are blended together to define the character of an individual. My blend is that I am a determined person, cautious, careful, steady and always interested in people. This has had positive impacts in the way I feel about myself, the way I think, make decisions and even relate to other people. My interpersonal communication has always achieved the desired goals because before I speak, I first reflect on what I want to speak and its impacts on the other party. This has been achieved by being cautious and careful. I am always determined to achieve my objectives in any negotiations or discussion that I participate with my fellow colleagues. This is achieved through presenting messages concisely and precisely (Stewart, 2012). My high affinity to socialize and relate with people has made it easy for me to get along well with other people in any conversation. I understand the feelings and the emotions of people and when I engage in any conversation, I am quick at learning the moods of the colleagues and adjust amicably. This has made me maintain relationships for long. Understanding my behavioral blend has played a significant role in my relationships with other people and more specifically in enlarging my conversation. Conversation between two parties can be enlarged or extended when the two parties think on the same wavelength. Therefore, due to my behavior blend, I have always had a positive conversation with my colleagues. We have always fared…...

...Assignment# 1 – Economics and Ethical Issues BUS 508: The Business Enterprise July 20, 2012 1. Discuss what you think will happen to the supply, demand, and price of the product in the short-term. Since the demand for the pie is high, the price of the pie will go up. Also, since more people are willing to pay for it. The demand and supply for the pie will go up also, simply because the people want them and the price is what they can afford to pay for it. Consequently, the rise in price prompt more pies to be supplied as supply relationship shows that the higher price, the higher the quantity supplied (Ferrell, O.C., Hirt, G., & Ferrell, L. (2009). Producers supply more at a higher price and selling a higher quantity at higher price increases revenue (McConnell, C., & Bruce, S. (2008). 2. Discuss what you think will happen to supply, demand and price of the product in the long- term. In the long term, if the demand for the pie goes down, the price as well will go down. That is to say all else equal, as price falls, the quantity demanded rises, and as price rises, the quantity demanded falls which affect the amount purchased. For instance, If new style of pie comes out and everyone wants the new one, the demand for the old pie will drop, thereby forcing the supply to drop too (McConnell, C., & Bruce, S. (2008). Mrs. Acres will have to do something in order to meet the long term levels of demand such as. (a) Tastes: A favorable change in......

Carter Strayer University Contemporary Business-508 August 21, 2012 Question 1: Evaluate the reasons Social Media Marketing has become exceedingly popular among businesses of all sizes. Social media has become a part of my every day life. Our text describes marketing as the “activity, and processes for delivering, creating, and communicating” a variety of information for a particular product a company is looking to sell (Boone & Kurtz, 2012, pg 353). Surprising, the new evolution of attention and gaining additional traffic for any product or service is through social media marketing (“What,” 2012, para. 1). Social media is the new way of communication. It has been described as the “catch-all” term (“What,” 2012, para.1) for sites that may provide radically different “social actions” for today’s information. Examples of social media would consist of Facebook and Twitter (“Investor, 2012; “About, 2012). However, many times Google is used as a heavy search engine (“About, n.d.). I particularly use Google on a daily basis for information I may be interested in. Many businesses use different strategies to market their product or business (“What,” 2012, para. 2). I recently learned of a company called Atlanta Hot Yoga (“Atlanta,” n.d.). Surprisingly, upon entering the class, the instructor advised everyone to learn about updates and specials on Twitter and Facebook. Facebook has been......

The McDonalds experience has always been enjoyable for me and this past weekend was no different when I took my niece to visit. The excitement she expressed was brought a smile to my face and made me happy to think I used to be the same way whenever I visited McDonalds as a child. I must admit that it was very difficult for me to come up with ten service quality improvements for McDonalds because of the wonderful times I’ve experienced in the past and the one I was creating for my niece. I presented the question of service quality to my friends and family to get their insight on the topic. The main topics they mentioned were all centered on healthy choices, technology, and basic level customer service at all locations. Discussing this topic with them really got me to thinking and I was able to create a check list to assist McDonalds with enhancing their current service quality efforts. 1. Menu Choices – A wider selection of well balanced, nutritious meals for the health conscious consumers. 2. Having it my way by allowing customers create their own value meals. ...Diversification Strategies: Best Buy vs. Circuit City BUS 508 Contemporary Business 25 April 2011 Diversification Strategies: Best Buy vs. Circuit City Diversify, diversify, and diversify! It’s something repetitively said to high-schoolers seeking pre-college extra-curricular memberships, employees seeking investment options, as well as businesses seeking to remain viable. But what is diversification? Diversification as it relates to business is defined as a “business development strategy allowing a company to current products, services, and markets” ("What is diversification?" 2011). This strategy enables a corporation several key benefits such as enhanced shareholder value, distribution of risks across several related or unrelated businesses, as well as the ability to offer lower prices than their competitors. Additionally, the company can benefit from entry into new markets. Although these are very great benefits, diversification requires very extensive research and market analysis in order to be successful. If not implemented correctly, the company could face brand confusion, loss of sales due to customer alienation, as well as lack of establishment of a loyal market following. Here we will explore both the diversification strategy and outcomes of consumer electronics retailers Best Buy and Circuit City. We will also explore possible decisions that led to the drastically different outcomes as well as alternative strategies that could have been employed......
