BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE RESEARCH Paltok Credit Cooperative, Inc. is a Financial, Accounting, Insurance, and Property Development company. The proponents are conducting the study in order to help the company determine its problems, and provide appropriate solutions in order to improve their quality of service. BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY The proponents of the study have identified that the company has a problem with their customers’ satisfaction, and may still improve on the services that they offer in order to adapt to the changing market demands. There is a negative effect on their competitive advantage against other financial institutions because other financial organizations offer more and better services. The proponents suggest that there is a need for Paltok Credit Cooperative, Inc. to provide additional services that other credit unions do not offer in order to improve customer satisfaction. By doing this, the company opens more financial opportunities to their members. The area for future research in this case is a study on the necessary technological innovations that the company should explore in order to compete against other commercial banks. It is important to conduct a research on the banking and financial industry in order to provide Paltok Credit Cooperative with a proposed specific action plan to address its problem. The members of a credit union are also considered as its part owners. The members will benefit from this study because the company will have the opportunity to expand and gain more members. RESEARCH PROBLEM/OBJECTIVE The proponents aim to determine how Paltok…...

Guillermo Concepts Paper

...Running Head: Guillermo Furniture Store Concepts Paper Guillermo Furniture Store Concepts Paper June 11, 2012 Guillermo Furniture Store Concepts Paper This paper will discuss the financial concepts of the Guillermo Furniture Store scenario. The concepts that will be discussed are: competitive economic advantage, value and economic efficiency, and observing financial transactions. The Scenario Guillermo Furniture Store is located in Sonora Mexico and is owned and operated by Guillermo Navallez. The area as a good supply of timber, which is used to manufacture tables and chairs by Navallez. First, there are new competitors from overseas, with high-end technology, offering a similar product at less cost. Second, there is also a rise in cost of labor due to an influx of people and jobs. This caused prices to fall and costs to rise, decreasing Navallez's profit margin. These obstacles have forced Navallez to consider various alternatives which include: a possible merger with other companies, becoming a distributor for other companies, or purchasing high-end equipment to increase manufacturing and reduce operating cost. Competitive Economic Advantage One of the financial principles includes the Principle of Self-Interested Behavior. The principle states "when all else is equal, all parties to a financial transaction will choose a course of action most beneficially advantageous to themselves," this applies in that Navallez must decide which curse of action......

Concept Paper: Discretion

...PROJECT 2 Concept Paper: Discretion Background: Discretion is the exercising of choice. Usually discretion involves a conscious, purposeful decision to disregard a directive, protocol, or normative behavior in favor of some alternative recourse deemed to be more appropriate to the current circumstance or condition. The exercise of discretion is fraught with risk, however. Deviation from direction may be construed as disrespect, disobedience, or worse. But a failure to identify the appropriate application of discretion may brand the leader as insensitive, unrealistic, or a martinet. The various elements and characters in the criminal justice system are replete with the opportunity (and the necessity) for the exercise of discretion, none more so than the law enforcement function. The role of the police administrator is doubly challenging, as he or she must determine how best to use discretion as well as encourage or dissuade discretion by subordinate members of the agency. Project Assignment: You will submit a concept paper describing two discretionary situations for a police chief. The situations may focus on either operational issues (e.g., uniform patrol deployment, criminal investigation/arrest, traffic control, crime prevention, etc.) or administrative issues (e.g., disciplinary action, hiring, training, budget/procurement, public information, etc.). The exercise of discretion in one situation may be appropriate while being inappropriate in another. For each......

It's not just a "The New Age of Computer Mobility" it is the new age of computing (Du Plessis, 2010). “Consumers increasingly switch from computers, made for concentrated work desk use, to devices used spontaneously in parallel with the flow of daily events. Purchase intent is higher for tablets compared to desktop PCs, and for smartphones compared to laptops” (Ericsson). There are limitations to portable devices. We know that keyboards have to be a certain size to use them comfortably, right? How practical is it to use keyboards "heavily"? Are the keyboards workable for longer, more sustained tasks? Meaning, that you can type a term paper on a desktop, or a laptop. Is this a realistic option with a portable device? The portable computing has solved the problem of mobility. Portable devices have been around for some time now, in terms of time with technology development. Support: -They have made it better for consumers by being able to have mobility. Calendars on the go. Task list on the go. -Can carry around in pocket. -This is an improvement because you are not able to put the laptop in your pocket. -In addition to planning your life, smartphones have the capability to make phone calls anywhere. -Before the smartphone there was the flip phone which didn't enable you to see what you are searching on the internet. These seven approaches are, body planes and body directions, body cavities, quadrants and regions, anatomy and physiology, microscopic to macroscopic, body systems, and medical specialties. These approaches are used to study the human body, all of which have different approaches when it comes to studying the human body. When studying the human body, the body cavities are split up into five cavities known as, cranial cavity, spinal cavity, thoracic cavity, abdominal cavity, and pelvic cavity. Venture Concepts Paper

...Venture Concepts Paper Venture Concepts Paper Small businesses make up the majority of businesses in America today. Starting a business takes lots of careful planning. There are many things to take into consideration when starting a business. These things could include startup cost, equipment that may be needed, number of employees and many other things. A conceptual small business startup business that I would like to plan, develop and operate is a mobile notary signing agency. A notary signing agent is someone that is not only a notary public, but also is licensed and bonded to sign for real estate documents and other legal documents that regular notaries are not able to do. The startup costs for this type of business are very low, because this type of business can bet set up in a home office. First of all, I would need to first get a notary license for the State of Arizona as well as get bonded. After the notary certification has been received then the notary must take a class and pass the test to become a notary signing agent. Once this is done, the notary must become bonded at a higher amount than just a notary also they are required to purchase E & O (Errors and Omissions) insurance for themselves. Once all this is completed I am ready to start the set-up of the business. Since this is going to start off has a home based business a small office space is needed. Also, because this is a home business the only employee will...

...…………………….My Course: My Self-Efficacy and Locus of Control……….……….. Name: Me Concept Paper No: 1 Course/Yr: BS Psychology 2 Date: 2 – 8 – 15 In the recent years of being a psychology major, I have learned many things including, but not limited to, the foundations and an overview of psychology, the various people that have contributed to this ever growing field of science, and of course, the schools of thought. One of these schools of thought is behaviorism, and among the many in this area are the two men, Albert Bandura, and Julian Rotter, who introduced the concepts of self-efficacy and the locus of control respectively. Self-efficacy refers to the person’s belief in herself, her capacity to do and accomplish things- her esteem, while the locus of control refers to what the person attributes something to, her failures, for example- was it because she herself did not try hard enough, or was it because something or someone else ruined it for her? Dwelling on these two concepts now, I believe they can both be summarized into a quote from a prayer by Reinhold Niebuhr, which goes… “God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.” As a psychology major… a student, and I think it applies to everyone else as well, it all boils down to the simple line that I mentioned. Our choices, our decisions… it all depends upon what we choose to do. The self-efficacy and the locus of......

Concept Paper

...Fine Arts Proposal Jennifer Rohrer St. Louis University INTRODUCTION Before we begin, I would like to introduce a few terms which will be used throughout this paper. First, visual art. In this paper, visual art refers to aesthetic art, such as drawing, painting, and sculpture. Second, “at- risk” youth, this refers to children who come from low socioeconomic backgrounds. They are typically a black or Hispanic minority, even though there have been cases of Caucasian children. They are also of low academic standing. Finally, success. Success in this research paper means the completion of high school. No Child Left Behind was put into place in hopes of closing the achievement gap between high and low socioeconomic children. States have been trying to figure out the best way to achieve this dilemma, but they have been going about it the wrong way. The legislators who are in charge of education are assuming all children learn the same. However, this is not the case. Children have many different ways which they learn. But because of this cookie cutter mold, curriculum is being designed to suit one type of child. This can cause boredom, under achievement, and discipline problems in other children (Lutfi and Repress, 2006). One way legislators have decided to design their curriculum, is to have education based on Math, Science, and English, eliminating other subjects such as Music and Art. This plan is not beneficial to anyone. Art education, especially through......

(i) Strengthening statistical capacity in support of progress toward the internationally agreed development goals in the Southern African Development Community region (ii) Implementing entities and U Secretariat partners: DESA jointly with ECA (iii) Background Statistics are an important tool in the development-policymaking processes of countries and regional organizations. They are needed for assessing the current development situation, setting objectives and targets for the future and measuring progress and development. However, a substantial gap still exists between the demand for information and the ability of most countries in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region to routinely provide it. The SADC Regional Indicative Strategic Development Plan recognizes statistics as one of the cross-sectoral areas that need to be strengthened to foster regional cooperation and integration over the next 15 years. This project is therefore designed to improve the availability and reliability of basic data required for development planning in the SADC region, with special emphasis on data requirements for the internationally agreed development goals and the Millennium Development Goals. The project is aimed at facilitating subsequent networking among subregions through interactive sharing......

Basic Concepts Paper

...Basic Concepts Kathy D. Hardy ECO/415 December 8, 2011 Dr. Robert Mupier In this paper the subject to discuss is the supply and demand from the simulation located on the University of Phoenix Student Website. There are several questions that will be answered and discussed such as how the changes in the business environment cause changes in supply and demand, why marginal analysis is important when making business decision, fixed and variable costs, and economic difficulties operating companies face. The subject of this paper will also give examples to these questions as they relate to the simulation to complete the knowledge of basic concepts in applied economics. Basic Concepts The supply and demand concept located in the simulation is key dynamics and basic concepts in applied economics. The main objective of this simulation is for Good Life Management to keep the equilibrium point in the two-bedroom rental apartment market in the city of Atlantis. Customer likes and preference, cost, and the level of the residents have the effect on the demand. The numbers of apartments, the quantity of apartments available and the quantity of apartments rented have the effect on the supply. Additionally, a variety of concerns should be taken into consideration such as the shift in supply and demand, and the process the shift in supply and demand has on the business environment. Concept of Police Personality Paper

...Running Head: Concept of Police Personality Paper Concept of Police Personality Paper John, Doe CJA/333 June 10, 2012 Instructor This paper is a position paper on the concept of police personality. The paper focuses on unique traits versus socialization and experience. In this paper, I select one viewpoint and explain why it makes the most sense to me. According to Twersky-Glasner (2005), kinds of people who apply for jobs as a police officer may have specific personality traits, such as authoritarianism, distrust, aggression, and self-doubt. These types of traits police agencies do not want to hire. However, they may not be able to avoid such hires because personality traits might develop through socialization and experience. A person who has the authoritarianism trait may have a huge influence on people. Along with that, an individual with the authoritarianism trait may also have the ability to take charge in circumstances that call for a firm, and self-confident, person to take over. However, this type of officer may not know when to stop being controlling. Individuals who have distrust traits may have disbelief, and mistrust issues when they encounters a person. Police officers with this kind of personality trait may experience negative effects on their career. One negative effect of the distrust trait is an officer might obtain quick readiness to fire a weapon, or behave with misuse of force. Some applicants display the aggression trait. People with...
