Mark X Company

...Mark X Company is in a precarious financial position- It is overextended, and unless the company can persuade its bank to continues present loans and also grant substantial additional credit, Mark X may well go under. Credit Analysis The accruals currently (that is, at the end of 1992) consist of $5 million of accrued taxes and $2331000 of accrued wages. It is easy to say what we must do, but the proof is in our actions. Ultimately, we will be judged on what we do. When considering any action, it is wise to ask: will this build trust and credibility for Company Q. Will it help create a working environment in which Company Q can succeed over the long term? Is the commitment I am making one I can follow through with? The only way we will maximize trust and credibility is by answering “yes” to those questions and by working every day to build our trust and credibility. Respect for the Individual We all deserve to work in an environment where we are treated with dignity and respect. Ethics Program Recommendations for Uber

...Business Practices” discusses the idea of entitlement as it relates to company perks and benefits for employees. Some of the points discussed in this article also can be related to customer entitlements. The article asks the questions: What do people deserve? When do they deserve it? Why do they deserve it? What does it mean to deserve anything? Uber should be thinking about these questions as they relate to their own customer’s experiences, and foundationally, what they think about their customers and how they should be treated. A suggested action to help the facilitation of this discussion would be to hold an executive round-table meeting where leaders of the organization can get together for the exclusive purpose of answering those core questions. The results will shape the foundation of Uber’s culture going forward, while also shaping the organization’s philosophy on how customers deserve to be treated. In keeping with the Shared Value proposition discussed in Article 49, titled “First Make Money, Also do Good”, Uber should pursue market strategies that fit the shared value model of corporate social responsibility. Similarly to GE’s “ecomagination” program described in the article, Uber should consider a business plan combined with a marketing campaign to address an environmental issue such as global warming. Given the nature of the business Uber is in (Car Service) it is important that the company is seen as being committed to helping environmental issues,......

Ethics Program

...Huffman Trucking Ethics Program Current Ethical Issues Paper Rick Spaise 8/26/2012 XMGT 216   We are creating an ethical program for a trucking company. The name of the company is Huffman Trucking. The company was created in 1936 by the founder K. Huffman. The company started in Cleveland, OH. He started the company with a single tractor and trailer. The company's growth was attributed to World War 2. The demand for trucking companies to move product from the factories in the Midwest to the ports along the East Coast is why many companies were able to brow very quickly in that time period. By 1945 the company had grown its fleet to 16 tractors and 36 trailers. They maintain their government contracts today. Over the next 60 years the company continued to grow because the company went out and found new customers. The other thing the company did was they acquired 5 Eastern Regional carriers, which made them a bigger company and also gave them the tools to continue with the customer care and service that helps company's stay around for many years. With the accusations of those 5 companies it also helped for Huffman Trucking to maintain themselves as a privately held company for all those years. When putting a ethics program together it should probably have 2 or 3 parts to it. The first part of the ethics program is going to be putting together a new hire orientation page. This page is going to need any and all ethical issues on it. This page will also need......
