... Financial and Accounting (F & A) Systems Team A Business Systems – BSA/310 May 13, 2013 Current Challenges Riordan Manufacturing is using different business systems throughout their branches. These different systems are causing difficulties, which produces errors in reporting and argument between these branches. San Jose has a license for a fully integrated Windows system without application source code. Michigan has a vendor software application that is no longer supported due to the vendor no longer being in business. To compound the issue, Georgia’s software is from a different vendor than Michigan’s vendor. A company that uses multiple systems will run into numerous difficulties, which can be prevented or resolved by planning and integration of a single business system that was designed and configured for all braches to access and use. Each of the department’s data are collected from different sources, some data is stored on hard copies that need to be reentered into the other system so that it is digitally available, which other branches are currently using. As a result of all the time it takes to transfer all existing data currently on hard copy, a lot of manpower hours are being wasted during this process. With the use of multiple codes on the many business systems that are currently in place, data needs to be converted to the proper code before each system can recognize the data. The above mentioned two issues, data that is hard......

...SR-RM-012 PAPER Brandi Perez and Chin Song BSA/310 December 12, 2013 Fred Bennett SR-RM-012 PAPER Human Resource no longer mirrors its personnel department. How it appears on an organization chart varies by the type of company. How it functions reflects the growing emphasis on the role of human resources. Currently all of Riordan’s facilities are non union facilities, employee relations are part of the human resources department. Riordan Manufacturing’s business systems are outdated, most information like training, development, applicant information, analyses, and salary surveys are kept in an Excel spreadsheet. There is no central employee file area; managers are responsible for tracking FMLA absences or any other request accommodations under the ADA. Employee relations specialists are there to track information concerning complaints, grievances, and harassment, locked in files in their or managers offices. The company’s HRIS (human resource information system) was installed in 1992. HRIS system is a software or online solution for the data entry, data tracking, and data information needs of the human resources, payroll, management, and accounting functions within a business. It is a part of the company’s financial systems package and keeps track of the following employee information such as personal information, pay rate, tax exemptions, senority date, organizational information (department, managers’ name etc), and vacation hours. ...McBride Marketing Paper Robert Greenleaf BSA/310 November 1, 2012 GARY TEED Marketing is an essential tool to the success and implementation of any marketing plan or strategy. Businesses rely heavily on the targeting the right customers desiring specific needs. There are many considerations to analyze when approaching the development of a successful marketing strategy. Marketing is defined as “the process by which companies create value for customers and build strong customer relationships in order to capture value from customers in return” (Armstrong & Kotler, 2011, p. 5).
