I. Introduction

Poverty means unable to afford human needs in respect of food, clothing, education, health and a warm place to live. In almost all of the places in the Philippines, inequality is quite high. Even today, there are still people struggling to find shelter, feed their kids, and also find warm clothing. Poverty has always been present and has been a consistent problem throughout the history. As we all know, Poverty is one of the biggest and most evident problem in the Philippines. It is a deadly issue that’s killing our population slowly and that needs to be address by everybody in the whole nation because if no one tries to do something about it, it is going to keep getting worst as time goes on.
There are several causes on why a huge number of people in the Philippines experience poverty. One of this is the inequality in the income distribution to the people in the Philippines. The rich earns higher income than the poor. This unequal income distribution will cause the poor to only get poorer to the point of not being able to afford basic needs. Another cause is the lack of quality education. Since not all people are able to have the best quality of education, many of them will have a hard time in terms of getting a job. The lack of job is another factor on experiencing poverty. The more people that is unemployed, the more people will suffer from poverty and have trouble accommodating their basic needs.
Also, overpopulation contributes on why a huge number of people in the Philippines experience poverty. With a growing population, it will be hard to help all the people in the labor force. It will be hard to ensure that every Filipino will be able to get a job and earn a living. Another cause is corruption.
