Being a photographer is seriously awesome.

1. CAPTURE A MEMORY THAT YOU CAN HAVE FOREVER

With a photo you can capture a moment, and have it forever. I think we take that idea for granted, with photography being so ubiquitous these days. But seriously just take a second to appreciate that. If you did that in Ancient Greece they’d call you a sorcerer. Or a god.

2. SHARE IT WITH THE IMPORTANT PEOPLE IN YOUR LIFE

One of the top ways people got into photography was through someone important to them. People credited their mother, father, aunt, uncle, grandmother, grandfather, sibling, friend and even great-grandparents. Photography is a passion that you can share with the important people in your life. You can pass it down to the next generation, and spur their love of this amazing art.

3. EXPRESS YOURSELF

Your unique perspective can go further than just showing people how you see a scene. Photography also lets you express yourself—your opinions and beliefs. You do this by choosing what you photograph, and how you represent it. This aspect of your photography is ever-changing as you change. You get a sense of what a photographer is like as a person by looking at their body of work. This part of photography is absolutely fascinating as a viewer, and fulfilling as a shooter.

4. A GREAT CHALLENGE

Now, there is actually a lot more to photography than just pointing the camera at something and pressing the button. That’s where you start. But learning to become a great photographer is a serious challenge. You’ll always be learning something new, have new directions to explore, and new challenges to face. And that’s a good thing! This is a pursuit that you will never be bored with.…...

...People Are Awesome: Bullied School Bus Monitor Gets a Really Nice Vacation In the span of just a few days, a video of vicious harassment of a school bus monitor at the hands of a group of suburban teens has gone viral, incited a backlash, and helped to raise a whole lot of money in sympathy. The video shows 69-year-old Karen Klein in her place of work—a green school bus bench seat—enduring the merciless bullying of several teens. The video Making the Bus Monitor Cry runs eight minutes and is unwatchable after 10 seconds. The web incubates both cruelty and compassion, and what began as a cringe-inducing piece of senior-abuse porn has become a fundraising juggernaut in the hands of Reddit user Max Sidorov. He started the lets give Karen Klein a Vacation campaign on indiegogo with a goal of $5,000 and within days it has raked in nearly $400,000. That's one heck of a vacation. Sidorov told Mashable that he too had painful experiences of being victimized by bullies. "I know how bad it can feel," he said. Over at Slate Torie Bosch calls Reddit "something of a St. Peter of the Internet, directing individuals to Web heaven and hell. If Reddit smiles upon you, there are rewards," she writes. Bosch goes on to list 8 other examples of Reddit's magnanimous smile (stacks of cash), including Caine's arcade, which flash mob fundraised $100,000 for a nine year old's education. Waveform capnography is known as ventilation vital signs and should always be used to confirm proper tube placement. Studies on wave form capnography have shown 100% sensitivity and 100% specificity in identifying correct endotracheal tube placement. It’s imperative to confirm tube placement so as not to ventilate the esophagus or a main bronchus going to only one lung. If the tube is inadvertently placed in the esophagus, adequate respirations will not occur. Brain damage, cardiac arrest, and death can occur. Aspiration of stomach contents can result in pneumonia and ARDS. Placement of the tube too deep can result in only one lung being ventilated and can result in a pneumothorax as well as inadequate ventilation. During endotracheal tube placement, damage can also occur to the teeth, the soft tissues in the back of the throat, as well as the vocal cords. All of this is happening with minimal interruptions of ventilations of course and monitor the O2 sat of this patient....

Comparing Photographers

...I have chosen William Klein, Henri- Cartier Bressonas, Gjon Mili, and Brassai as my photographers as I enjoy viewing their work. What I like about these photographers is that they have been very revolutionary with their work. Henri- Cartier Bresson is considered the as the father of modern photojournalism to most people. William Klien has also been revolutionary in the fact that he has his own style of photography that many other people have tried to embrace. Gjon Mili was the first to use electronic flash and stroboscopic light to create photographs, which influenced photographers in terms of creativity within photography and Brassai is known for his incredible night photography of the mystery night time Paris. They are considered to be innovators in photography using different techniques to produce work that is still admired and studied today. William Klein is an American born French photographer and filmmaker. He was trained as a painter but he soon moved to photography which achieved him fame as a fashion photographer for Vogue. Klein’s photographic style is ‘in your face’ and close up often having a theatrical look with many being harshly framed or blurred. His images are grainy and satirical often exploring the more abstract parts of a location like in New York where he shot images showed ‘The big apple’ as a kind of slum. Many American publishers were against this and didn’t believe it showing New York in a good way. His passion for exploring the unexpected can......

...looking to be around the age of 13, is dressed in obviously filthy clothes and smoking a cigarette. She is standing next to a wall where there is the word "dope" clearly carved into it. 1 I selected the photograph because it’s a powerful image that shoes reality. The photo selected shows a girl who is acting tough by smoking a cigarette, however she is holding a rag doll with her other hand. Her face is hardened by the many hardships she has already experienced at such a young age. The girl is smoking which makes her seem older, but the doll in her hand lets the audience know that she is just a child who is trying to latch on to her innocence. Mark shot in black and white because the image was meant to have a feeling of no hope, and of being abandoned. She is alone and homeless and the image forces people to realize what is occurring and the problems others are facing. 1 In another photograph from Mary Ellen Marks book “American Odyssey” she captures an image called “ Amanda and her Cousin, Amy Valese. This was taken in North Carolina in 1990. This image embodies a favorite theme of hers which is children acting like adults. 2 This photograph shows two girls in a kiddy pool. Grass and trees surround the girls. Both girls are staring right into the camera with blank looks on their faces. The girl on the left is a little chubby; she is sitting down in the pool with dripping wet hair. Her legs are completely submerged in the water and she seems to be wearing a......

...purposes. IV. Choosing a Support Department Cost Allocation Method Many companies have multiple support departments, and they frequently interact. These interactions among support departments need to be considered to produce accurate cost assignments. Three methods can be used to allocate support department costs: the direct, sequential, and reciprocal methods. In determining which support department cost allocation method to use, companies must: ■ Determine the extent of support department interaction. ■ Weigh the costs and benefits associated with each method. A. Direct Method of Allocation When support department costs are allocated only to the producing departments, the direct method of allocation is being used. ... Theology “Theology is define as the study of God, and his relations with man.”(www.bible.org.com). Theology also states that one should lead to spirituality. Theology puts me in a mindset of thinking about God which is already part of my everyday lifestyle. Many people engage in theology because we each have a set of different beliefs when talking about God. So rather being content with our beliefs, and ideas about God we should each have a desire to know God which theology takes place to teach and give us a better understanding of God. Poor theology and a superficial, inaccurate understanding of God will only make our lives worse instead of bringing the comfort and hope we long for. Knowing about God is crucially important. Reject theology and you doom yourself to life with no sense of direction. This is my first theology course. What I hope to anticipate from this class is a chance to understand more of the world of God. What I also would like to take from this class is to know the living God and who he is. To study theology is to get to know God in order for me to glorify him through my love and obedience for him. All Christians should be consumed with theology the intense, personal study of God in order to know, love, and obey the one with whom we will joyfully spend eternity. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”......

...4/15/15 The Life of a Serf in the Medieval Age Henry was a man of few words, and a man with a great deal of responsibility in his life. Being a serf in Medieval Europe was definitely not the easiest of tasks to have. Henry was a man with a family a wife, a son, and an ailing mother, whom he was forced to take care of in their very petite living area. Henry was from France, and served under King Philip II Augustus (AKA Philip II of France), who served Capetian France from 1180-1223. The man was a menacing leader who believed in war first tactics to resolve issues. He used war methods to win back property that originally belonged to France, and “Waged war against the Plantagenet rulers of England” whom ruled the French territories of Normandy, Maine, Anjou, and Aquitaine. You can also attribute his war tactics, and successes to the surplus of income he’d brought to the French monarchy. Henry was among the many serfs whom served under Philip II, but he’d always seem to come out as the favorite in terms of his overall help to Philip II. Henry was a head grounds man to the gardens set up along the palace in which Philip II resided. On top of being a great help to the king, he was an avid supporter of his majesty, and was no pacifist in the slightest, as he supported all the war tactics used to gain back French land from the English. While being a diligent worker was key to his successes in the life of a serf, the negatives of the life were very evident as soon as he......
