What advantages does Aquaflow have in its efforts to execute the plan and continue to grow?

Answer: They can truly execute the three-point plan because it can be one of the most competitive player in the market. Some factors to consider to make this plan work is that Aquaflow must use wild algae to help clean up water. They should also try to cultivate mono-cultures or a small number of species although its quit expensive, hard to scale and has significant technical risk. Aquaflow must look to partner in where the ‘fuel’ is a byproduct of the scheme’s overall value and etc. Aquaflow believes it now has a world-leading multi-biomass to biofuels capability and technology offering. This is a robust and highly integrated technology package which can leapfrog other biomass to biofuel technologies because it goes straight to blended fuel stock and avoids intermediate pathways.

2. To what extent did passion play role in the founding of Aquaflow and its early success? Do you think that someone without passion for alternative fuels could have successfully founded the firms? Why or why not?

Answer: They show that they are truly dedicated to their work and face all the challenges and risk that will happen. They improved the Aquaflow a lot and make used of their intelligence to build it up and because of their passion, it influences people’s. They cannot be successful if they don’t have passion. The Boeing Company

...The Boeing Company The Boeing Company is an American multinational aerospace and defense corporation. Founded in 1916 by William E. Boeing in Seattle, Washington, the company has expanded over the years, and merged with McDonnell Douglas in 1997. Boeing is among the largest global aircraft manufacturers, and the third largest aerospace and defense contractor in the world based on defense-related revenue. The company is the largest exporter by value in the US, and its stock is a component of the Dow Jones Industrial Average. The exemplary behavior that the Boeing does is that Boeing is informally collaborating with leading Brazilian biofuels maker Tecbio, Aquaflow Bionomic of New Zealand and other fuel developers around the world. So far, Boeing has tested six fuels from these companies, and will probably have gone through 20 fuels "by the time we're done evaluating them." Air New Zealand and Boeing are researching the jatropha plant to see if it is a sustainable alternative to conventional fuel. A two-hour test flight using a 50–50 mixture of the new biofuel with Jet A-1 in the number one position Rolls Royce RB-211 engine of 747–400 ZK-NBS, was successfully completed on December 30, 2008. It benefits to both society and company that acted ethically. Boeing estimates that biofuels could reduce flight-related greenhouse-gas emissions by 60 to 80 percent. The solution would be blending algae fuels with existing jet fuel. Using biofuels rather than conventional fuel can......

Pond Scum in Your Gas Tank

...clear container suspended in panels, either flat or upright. Water and other required nutrients to include CO2 are pumped into the system to grow the algae. Issues with the closed, PBR system are; the high upfront cost of building and maintaining these types of systems, the need for a reliable source of CO2 and overheating. These systems are best suited for very dry or very cold climates. The high upfront cost is an issue that many private companies are trying to overcome; to make this highly productive system more cost effective. Rudolf Diesel’s engine may have been the first to run on biofuel, but it is not the last. Innovations made by private companies and Governments are showing impressive promise. According to a press release from Aquaflow Bionomic Corporation; they provided the algae-based biodiesel which was used “when the Minister of Energy, Hon. David Parker, drove an unmodified standard Land Rover along the Wellington Motorway.” (Scoop, 2008, para. 3) Per Goldenberg (2010), “at the U.S. Naval base in Norfolk, Virginia; an experimental boat, intended for use in rivers and marshes and eventually destined for oil installations in the Middle East, operated on a 50/50 mix of algae-based fuel and diesel.” (Goldenberg, 2010, para. 2) Information provided by the ABO, regarding a successful algae-based fuels test states; “In September 2009, an algae-based substitute for gasoline was successfully tested in a 2008 Toyota Prius during a two-week, cross-country tour that......
