Although with the launch of one of their first Macintosh came a profitable era, called “Apple’s first golden age” for Apple, which reaches from 1989 to 1992 (MacAddict, 1992), its undying competence with Microsoft, their sworn rival, the suit later filed against them, along with a lot of failed products their stock prices and market share were brought to a downward slide. ...Effects of Attractiveness, and Qualifications on the Applicants Resume on Determining Job Placement and Competence Karissa Sakamoto California State University, Dominguez Hills Abstract The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of attractiveness and qualifications of a female applicant’s resume on the hiring process on job placement and competence. Hiring decisions based on the ratings of job placement and competence were made for four groups in a vignette situation. Each group had different scenarios, one having an attractive female and the other unattractive female, being unqualified and qualified. The participants were tested as a group. It was hypothesized that the more attractive female, whether they were unqualified and less competent would get the job over the unattractive female that is qualified and more competent. The results show that the job competence group showed significantly higher attractive and qualified scores, but also showed a higher unattractive and unqualified group. The hypothesis that attractiveness would over rule an unattractive applicant was somewhat supported in these conditions. Keywords: attractiveness, job qualifications, competence, job placement Effects of Attractiveness, and Qualifications on the Applicants Resume on Determining Job Placement and Competence Frequently, people encounter situations in their environment where they feel they are judged by their appearance. ...Citing Sources using APA ITT Tech American Psychological Association (APA) is used at many institutions for essay writing. Although essays are less formal, using APA style to cite research in an essay will not only give your essay credibility, but will allow readers to look up the original sources if they are interested in more information. APA style is not difficult to master, but it takes practice and patience to learn some of the intricacies. The most important reason for citing sources is to prevent plagiarism. Plagiarism which is the uncredited use (both intentional and unintentional) of somebody else's words or ideas (Purdue, 2014). A charge of plagiarism can have severe consequences, including expulsion from a university or loss of a job, not to mention a writer's loss of credibility and professional standing. When citing Use the author-date method of citation when referring to research in the text. For a single author of an article or book, cite the year in parentheses if you name the author in the text. For example: According to Grucza (2010), those with a family history of alcoholism are more at risk for obesity(Cort D, 2014). In addition, if you are summarizing research you should cite both the author name and the date in parentheses. For instance, Recent research suggests that those with a family history of alcoholism are more at risk for obesity (Grucza, 2010). Moreover, everyone must cite both authors' names in your essay every time you refer to......

...between 150 and 250 words. TITLE OF PAPER !3 Title of Paper The first part of the paper is called the “Introduction” section, yet it does not have a heading that actually says “Introduction.” Instead, the title of the paper is typed at the top of the first page (be sure to center the title, but do not put it in bold). In this section you would often start with a topic paragraph that introduces the problem under study. Introductions are designed to grab the attention of the reader, set up the topic you will be writing about, and state your thesis for the paper. The importance of the topic should be pretty clear from the first paragraph or two of the Introduction. Section 2.05 of the American Psychological Association (APA) manual (APA, 2010) will help give you some ideas about how to write this. The bulk of the Introduction section is background literature on the topic. Here a literature review is often very helpful to provide a theoretical or empirical basis for the research. Try to provide the reader with enough information on the topic to be able to conclude that the research is important and that the hypotheses are reasonable. Any prior work on the topic would be useful to include here, although prior work that is most directly related to the hypotheses would be of greatest value. The Body of Your Paper After you write the introduction, you will develop your thesis in the body of the paper. The body of your paper will largely be determined by the......
