...was the biggest issue with your draft. Your revisions make your internal paragraph organization much clearer. Your paragraph to paragraph organization was largely unchanged, with the exception of the deleted paragraph near the end, and that is something to think about for the next paper. One of the best tools for revising for paragraph to paragraph organization is a reverse outline, which you can read about here: http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/689/1/ . The other thing to work on is making sure your main claim is as specific as possible, or at least as specific as the paper that follows. Most of your claims center around a child’s identification with the prince as a way of learning self-acceptance, and some specific information about that to clarify early on for a reader the kind of argument you are making about the tale will greatly help that reader follow the logic of your argument. Comments on draft: Tascha, you have a strong voice and some great analysis of PP here. You really seem to have taken to B’s approach, and are able to bring out the ways the tale could help reassure a child in ways that generate new insight about the tale. My main concern right now is that your organization is getting in the way of some of this analysis, particularly in the first half of your paper. I recommend in a marginal comment, but I’ll repeat it here, that instead of doing a plot summary and analysis simultaneously over the course of the paper, you begin with a simple plot......

Rough Draft Paper 2

...Paper 2 A very influencing part of the average American lifestyle is the music they are readily listening to on a daily bases. The metaphors in the music can easily become a reference for how they create their ideals. New York Times posted that the average teenager listens to over 2.5 hours of music daily. Riddled with ideas disguised as metaphors it can be understood how some negative concepts and ideals can become a part of anyone listening daily thinking habits. Music’s influence continues to grow readily with the ability to listen to the songs through Mp3 players and personal music systems such as radios and stereos, but the spread of music isn’t the problem it is the words being said. A piece from a New York times Article “Under the Influence of Music” states, “Studies have long shown that media messages have a pronounced impact on childhood risk behaviors. Exposure to images of smoking in movies influences a child’s risk for picking up the habit. Alcohol use in movies and promotions is also linked to actual alcohol use.” “The study authors noted that music represents a pervasive source of exposure to positive images of substance use. The average adolescent is exposed to approximately 84 references to explicit substance use per day and 591 references per week, or 30,732 references per year. The average adolescent listening only to pop would be exposed to 5 references per day, whereas the average adolescent who listens just to rap would be exposed to 251......

Analysis Paper

...Analysis Paper 1 A situation in my work career, which I witnessed an action of moral gravity was when I walked in on people eating product without paying for it at my place of work. Moral Gravity is I was putting product back and a customer asked for my assistance, so I decided to try and help them. I tried helping them, but I couldn’t help them because I didn’t work in that department, so I looked for the produce associates and I found them eating product in the prep room. I was faced with a tough decision. I know they didn’t pay for the product because they tried to hide it behind something when I walked in on them. This meant that they stole the product from the store, so they could eat it. At the time I didn’t really know what was going on because I was young and it was my first job, so I didn’t really know if it was allowed or not. The right outcome that should of happened was I should have found a manager and reported the employees for stealing from the store. I should of found the manager because they knew what they were doing and they knew it was wrong because they tried to hide the salads from me, but I saw them eating it. However, I did what was considered wrong and ignored the situation and pretended I didn’t see anything. What I did is considered wrong because I knew they stole and I let them get away with it, all I did was pretended I didn’t see what they did. The stakeholders affected by this action are the company I worked for or anyone who has......

...ANALYSIS PAPER: In the previous ten years, the thought that talking about a culture definitely recommends an over the top level of boundedness, evenness, clearness, and soundness has picked up long/big backing, and some cultural/social (people who study people) have even called for giving up the idea. It is said/argued here, not prevented by/not part of the issue, that the unwelcome essences are not built-in in the idea yet connected with specific uses that have been less (put into a hospital)/(made a behavior acceptable) than these experts accept. The foundation of the messy confusion is the taking (or setting aside) of intelligent schedules crosswise over people: while these schedules are never perfectly/completely communicated, they are not randomly circulated. In the same way/in that way, "culture" should be held as a helpful term for selecting/naming the bunches of regular ideas, feelings, and practices that come out when people communicate regularly (all the time). Besides, outside human sciences and the educated community the statement is picking up very widespread and well-known nature and (more and more) seen in a harshly (related to human history) manner. Holding the idea while lighting/educational that culture is not imitated un-problematically, has its cutoff points in the amazing/surprising (or: single) and the widespread, and is not sounding the same as/equal to (family and cultural characteristics) and personality will safeguard the shared opinion the idea......

Roles and Analysis Paper

...Roles and Stages Analysis Paper In their essay, Functional Roles of Group Members,1 Benne and Sheats identify a number of roles that are often assumed by members of a group. These "roles" are divided into 3 subgroups: Group Task Roles, Group Maintenance Roles and Self-Centered Roles. During this project, some members of our group consciously took hold of certain roles, while others simply assumed the remaining roles. Throughout the duration of this paper I will analyze the "roles" mentioned within Benne and Sheats’ essay and how my group members acquired and performed in these "roles".  Finally, I will discuss and analyze the Group Development Stages as outlined by Bruce Tuckman.2 As a team member of Spring Together, I assumed many roles throughout the project. Initially, I was very nervous and apprehensive about working with an online group. Our first group communications began with introducing ourselves on Blackboard. My apprehension had me quickly taking on the roles of Help Seeker and Tension Releaser, as described by Benne and Sheats.3 Although I consider myself pretty adept at technology, I recall that I asked simple questions of my group members regarding technology in an effort to gain information and break the ice. I also asked that they be patient with me as I tried to navigate Blackboard. In addition, I labeled my email subject lines, “Finally getting the hang of this”, hoping to lighten the mood and release some tension. I also discovered that......

Audience Analysis Paper

...Audience Analysis Paper Abstract This paper will discuss how important effective communication is when dealing with diverse groups of people. This paper will discuss how an audience analysis must be done to capture the audiences’ attention. This paper will also analyze the audience characteristics, communication channels and various ways to deliver an effective message. Audience Analysis Paper     Someone who is efficient at giving presentations may have many reasons for being efficient. It could be that they are very knowledgeable about the information they are presenting or they may be really confident about their ability to speak in front of large crowds. Something else that may add to them being efficient is the knowledge of whom the audience is and how to communicate effectively to different groups of people. Proficient communicators understand the different characteristics of the audience, the diversity in groups, and the appropriate communication channels. In addition, they look for ways to ensure their messages are effective and understood.     For starters, the presenter must determine who the audience is that they are presenting to and their different roles of the audience. These roles would incorporate the primary audience, the secondary audience, the auxiliary audience, the gatekeeper, and the watchdog. The primary audience will decide whether to accept your recommendations or will act on the basis of your message. It is very necessary to reach your......

Ics Paper - Draft

...Axiological Theory - 1st draft The Axiological theory branches from the study of philosophy and derived from the Greek word axiā which is the study of the nature of different values, value judgments, aesthetics and ethics. Ethics is how a society generalizes as what is right and wrong. Aesthetics main concept is of nature and the appreciation of beauty and harmony. It studies two major fields which are the intrinsic and extrinsic value and because of this, the axiological theory can be further broken down into the subjectivism category. Formal axiological theory is an attempt to lay out principles in regards of value. The most common question to ask yourself in the axiological language is; "what is intrinsically good?". Hedonists view it as pleasure while a Pragmatist would see it as satisfaction, growth, or adjustment. Kantians generally think that intrinsically good means a good will. Humanists think self-realization is the key. Overall, there are many different viewpoints and all are correct because the relationship of value to fact is of equal importance. Philosophers would ask whether something is of value because that the object in particular is desired and subjectivists would ask whether something holds value because it's desired. Both values have a cognitive status and the difference is whether its valuable because it exists as a property or because humans have an interest or desire in it. Robert S. Hartman's research and mathematics is the foundation of......

...Analysis Paper With divorce still on the rise in America, many researches want to know what kind of affect divorce is having not only the children in the middle of it but also the intimate partners these children have later in life. Elizabeth Mullet and Arnold L. Stolberg conducted a study to examine divorce and its impact on the intimate relationships of young adults. The purpose of the study was to look at how the divorce of one’s parents impacts the intimate relationships of young adults. This was assessed researching the difference in intimacy levels as well as positive and negative communication patterns. The researchers looked at four different types of couples to study; neither person experienced parental divorce, both partners experienced divorce, and only the man or the woman experienced divorce. Based on previous studies, Mullet and Stolberg wanted to know whether or not the level of intimacy and communication contributes to unsuccessful relationships in young adults who experienced their parents’ divorce. They believed a woman who has experienced parental divorce will have a higher level of negative communication. They also believed that relationships in which the man only experienced parental divorce would decrease likely hood of his divorce because the woman would be more likely to have better conflict resolution skills and the man can adapt to that. Regarding relationships where the man and woman did not experience their parents’ divorce, higher levels of......

Japan Cultural Analysis - Draft

...“Oishi!” at the first bite. Nothing beats the scenery of their natural environment, and having seen the vast size and beauty of Japan in television, I told myself that one day, I would like to explore as many cities as I can over there. Looking into my household, I remembered how Japan made products are always favoured by my father as compared to China or even some US made products because of the attention to quality found in the Japanese workmanship. Growing up, I used to find their conservativeness & strict attitude highly admirable, and now at this stage of life, I’ve come to learn that beyond their personal life, their distinctive cultural characteristics also encompasses the way they lead their businesses and nation. Cultural analysis of Japan The Japanese population of 128 million people in Japan are mostly found in the coastal areas and urban regions due to the mountainous nature of the country. There are three main metropolitan areas – Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya, with Tokyo having a population of 30 million. Tokyo is the largest city in the world. Every country has its own unique culture. There is no sense in saying that one country is more unique than the other. Except when it comes to Japan. In many ways Japan resembles Europe or even US, but it also has many things in common with Asia. I have always been captivated by their “Kawaii” culture, and for a start, Japan hasn’t always been cute. The obsession with Kawaii culture first began in the 70s, at the......
