Cities are oversaturated, on one hand most of the population is concentrated in large cities. In 2030 more than 80% of the population will live in urban areas, on the other hands mobility needs of the modern population are growing continuously. While urban demand for trips is growing constantly, supply is limited, and must be optimized, not increased.

...It is the method of absorbing production overhead with which we shall be primarily concerned here. Absorption costing comprises three stages:    cost allocation and apportionment; cost reapportionment of non-production overheads; cost absorption of overheads. Note that Figure 4.1 is based on the absorption costing principle. Under marginal costing – a slightly different basis for costing which we shall examine in a later chapter - the amount of production overhead absorbed would relate to the variable amount only. © ABE Absorption Costing 47 Figure 4.1: Elements of Cost Direct Costs Materials Labour Expenses Indirect Costs Materials Labour Expenses Prime Cost Production Overhead Cost Marketing Selling Distribution Admin. In other words, where the overhead can be directly identified, it can be allocated straight to the cost unit or cost centre. Referring to Figure 4.1, such costs would be classified as direct cost expenses and would include such items as a foreman's wages for a production department, or the electricity charge for a production department if they are on a separate meter. Note that if the foreman covered several different production departments or the......

...picked by the president and can be fired by the president. The president can not fire civil service employees (needs cause). Civil Service - created by Chester Arthur (crook) Commission (independent agencies) - heads are appointed by president but staggered terms so no president could appoint a majority. Also party restrictions. Insulated from president control. Can president remove them? Often they are in different structures. Congress is not consistent. Example - U.S. Postal Service - Federal Corporation set up by the government for profit. Rates are reviewed by the postal rate commission. When addressing legal issues, the one question you ask is what does this issue sound in? Contract, property, tort ? One problem with admin law is trying to figure out whose rules to follow. Power of the president to control/fire people. At the cabinet level, no problem. Lower level positions usually are insulated by statute that says “for cause” . . . 1. Presidential Power ‘the Unitary President’ F&S 51-67 Vesting Clause: Art. II §1; Take Care Clause: Art. III, §3 Meyers and Humphreys focus on two kinds of issues: (1) separation of powers, (2) non-delegation: Separation of powers is an issue of encroachment - if congress can fire people under the executive branch, they step on the presidents toes. Isn’t it the same type of encroachment if congress says the president can not fire the head of an agency? Delegation - Duties can not be......

Admin Distance & Junos Route Preferences

...NT2640 Cisco IOS Admin Distances & Juniper JUNOS Route Preferences Introduction Most routing protocols have metric structures and algorithms that are not compatible with other protocols. In a network with multiple routing protocols, the exchange of route information and the capability to select the best path across the multiple protocols are critical. Administrative distance is the feature that routers use in order to select the best path when there are two or more different routes to the same destination from two different routing protocols. Administrative distance defines the reliability of a routing protocol. Each routing protocol is prioritized in order of most to least reliable (believable) with the help of an administrative distance value. Prerequisites Requirements Cisco recommends that you have knowledge of these topics: * Basics of the routing process. Refer to Routing Basics. Components Used This document is not restricted to specific software and hardware versions. Conventions Refer to Cisco Technical Tips Conventions for more information on document conventions. Select the Best Path Administrative distance is the first criterion that a router uses to determine which routing protocol to use if two protocols provide route information for the same destination. Administrative distance is a measure of the trustworthiness of the source of the routing information. Administrative distance has only local significance, and is not advertised in routing......

A bus, a main channel to which nodes or secondary channels are connected in a branching structure. 2. A ring in which each computer is connected to two neighbouring computers to form a closed circuit. 3. A star in which each computer is linked directly to a central computer and indirectly to one another. Each of these has an advantage though a bus configuration has become the most. ETHERNET Ethernet is a standard communications protocol embedded in software and hardware devices, intended for building a local area network (LAN). ...This situation usually arises in one of two circumstances: * A company has a small amount of remaining unused production capacity available that it wishes to use; or * A company is unable to sell at a higher price The first scenario is one in which a company is more likely to be financially healthy - it simply wishes to maximize its profitability with a few more unit sales. The second scenario is one of desperation, where a company can achieve sales by no other means. In either case, the sales are intended to be on an incremental basis; they are not intended to be a long-term pricing strategy, since prices set this low cannot be expected to offset the fixed costs of a business. The variable cost of a product is usually only the direct materials required to build it. Direct labor is rarely completely variable, since a minimum number of people are required to crew a production line, irrespective of the number of units produced. The Marginal Cost Calculation ABC International has designed a product that contains $5.00 of variable expenses and $3.50 of allocated overhead expenses. ABC has sold all possible units at its normal price point of $10.00, and still has residual production capacity available. A customer offers to buy 6,000 units at the company's best price. To obtain the sale, the sales manager sets the price of $6.00, which will generate an incremental profit of $1.00 on each unit sold, or $6,000 in total. The sales manager ignores the allocated overhead of......
